I think the Knicks should go after Spencer Dinwiddie the guy was having a breakout season before his acl tear . He brings everything we are looking for in a starting PG and probably cheaper then the other PG’s mentioned. In 2019 he was averaging 21pts 7 asst 4 reb, he’s 28 solid playmaker, shooter, scorer. He’s becoming my choice to take the starting pg spot. At around 15 mil, he allows us to sign another high end free agent.
What do you guys think?

I think he wants more than $15M a year. Remember, he has to answer to all those "Dinwiddie" coin investors. Also, that drive from the Westchester practice facility might be too much for him.
Last report I read was that he will be looking for 20mil a year, so.........no
Yeah i don't have much interest there. He's a ball dominate guard that isn't a great shooter, defender, or passer.
Key for me being acl tear. Takes time. Given the circumstances, 20mil would be a little too rich for my blood.
A healthy Dinwiddle would be perfect, his complimentary performance are what a lot of Knicks players need on the court !!!
I like him and we should look- but I was playing around with stats for PGs, and the guy Briggs flagged, Cameron Payne, kept coming up near the top, and was one of the younger players often in the rankings near him.
Payne might be my #1, then maybe Ball- then I don't know.
I did like the way Spencer was playing, but hurt and asking for $20M when you were a G League stand out before is asking a lot. And he is 28, which unless your Chris Paul, is your peak year of athleticism.
Contingency plan in case we don’t get Lonzo

The problem with Payne is extrapolating what he does playing 18 minutes per game off the bench backing up a future hall of famer who is still playing prime basketball and expecting similar production playing full time as a starter. Are you viewing Payne as the long term solution or just coming here to play the Payton role more effectively? If DRose goes down would you be comfortable with Payne having to be the guy?

I have watch 0 minutes of Payne, so let me get that disclaimer out there.
I think my thought is finding nuggets- and PG is one of those positions that takes players a while to figure it out.
I look at Payne as a decent upgrade over Payton (although my over the hill fat butt would be too!) who might blossom both in terms of timing with their career, and playing under Thibs.

Got it, that's reasonable. Especially if we can get him relatively cheap.
Dinwiddie's healthy years still show he sucks from 3. Not what we need for 20M a year at PG.
I would take him though, if for no other than to possibly get someone excelling here that would piss people off at the Nets fan board.
Is there a Nets fan board?

Did you notice you used the singular for "fan." So yes, I believe there's a lone Nets fan with a board all to himself out there somewhere.

If they win the chip he/she will love the attention being the only person at the "parade."

Years ago there was a thread in the OT forum about someone starting UltimateNets.com, but I think it died off after about 3 posts....

Hi Jarod. You need new material!
I’m really worried we end up with Elf/Rose again

You mean like all that fresh, new stuff you post about rainman Phil or my Melolove?
And if you're going to insult me, at least fatfinger my login name correctly!

I can't see Thibs going back to Elf after benching him in the playoffs. Satan goes from starting at 23 MPG to getting 13 whole minutes in the playoffs and trading recipes on the bench with Frankie and Theo.
Dinwiddie opted out. Coming off ACL tear, poor 3 point shooter - wouldn’t mind him but what’s he looking for and what will he get?
