When I listen to the media and fans on this site. WE ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE. Who do you think is really coming to the Knicks and don't say Damian L because he ain't coming. Last 10 years almost every player we thought was coming here laugh at us and never came. So lets be realistic and come up with some names and the reason why they are coming. and no pipe dreams
I think we are signing one of Jackson or Dinwiddie
I’m hoping it’s Collin Sexton or Devantae Graham but that probably is a trade and who knows what they’ll want… I do like the idea I of growing younger guys with this group, but not necessarily rookies
I’m not terribly excited by the UFAs but if we ended up with Lowry, DeRozan, and resigning Rose I’d be really good with that and see it as realistic
If you're asking what we think will happen, i think we end up with either Sexton via trade, or Dennis Schroder as a straight up free agent signing. Schroder just fits the mold of a Thibs team, penetrating, defensive-oriented guard who is a significant upgrade over Payton. He's used to playing off the ball alongside LeBron and Chris Paul, so his fit with Randle and Barrett is strong. His attitude seems to be the only real downfall. He wants the big bucks, but i see him accepting in the 4/80 range knowing his role will be increased and it's a buyers market with PGs this summer. I think besides resigning Rose, Bullock, and Gibson, the knicks use remaining cap space on a significant 1-year contract for 1 or 2 of these guys; Otto Porter, Justice Winslow (CAA), Torrey Craig (CAA), or Tony Snell (CAA.) Basically someone who can round out the rotation as defensive role player.
C Robinson/ Gibson/ Sharpe
PF Randle/ Toppin/ Winslow
SF Bullock/ Porter/ Duarte
SG Barrett/ Quickley/ Pinson
PG Schroder/ Rose/ Vildoza
Just guessing purely most realistic. Getting better but nothing splashy.
The other most likely option would be Reggie Jackson instead of Schroder at a cheaper rate. He’s CAA and brings a similar improvement to the PG position.
I really don’t know what to expect anymore. Ball has been mentioned so many times that I believe he will end up somewhere else in the end. Graham is often mentioned as an option, but I don’t believe he will come either. Brunson is often mentioned here, but he is a completely unrealistic option anyway. As Knixkik wrote, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to end up with Schroder for something in the 88/4 range.
Sexton is in all the headlines, but somehow I’m not sure he’s coming. I think the Cavs will most likely trade him, but I’d say not to us. I wouldn’t be surprised if we really decide to bring someone like Oubre on a two-year contract where a second year would be a team option.
If we bring PG in a free agency, there is no point in drafting another one, but the draft is before the free agency, so at that moment you don't know which free agent you will bring. Somehow it seems to me that the FO is monitoring the situation and will almost certainly try to trade up and pick one of the wings with that pick. With the second pick (I mean the 32nd if we spend 19th and 21st on trade up) we will then probably look for a backup center.
As I have said on other sites. i dont want Ball not because of the player but because of his clownie father. You give him carte blanc to the NY media and to MSG and mainly to this young team and you waiting for a disaster to happen. Hes a clown and he will bring his circus. Now ufa or tradewise I dont want to give up obi, rj ,mitch, randle, rose, burks, iq,noel. but i would give frank,knox and any draft picks for dame, dont know about sexton.

Derozan and Lowry wouldn't be too bad.

His father hasn’t been as out there the last couple years. He took a step back after Lonzo looked like a bust with the lakers

I wouldn't write off the Dame trade just yet. It all depends on how the Knicks feel about giving up RJ and how interested Portland is in RJ. If the Knicks are willing to trade RJ and Portland really likes him, the Knicks have plenty of draft capital to sweeten the pot. Word is Dame is going to request a trade so Portland should simply be looking for the best deal they can get.
Having said that- is Lillard the most realistic scenario? Probably not. But its not a 'pipe dream'. Lillard has one foot out the door and the Knicks never said anything about RJ being untouchable.

WE do know that Triple attended an online MIT class, is the foremost authority on women, and stayed at a Holiday Inn express, has big hands, has a distain for the opposite sex but a healthy libido and needs them, trains NFL prospects and I believe has qualifications to evaluate athletes, not totally objective as he demonstrates a frustration/bitterness towards them (and women), but all the while has good takes on some things and uniquely amusing ideas!

Lol Lets be straight we are not getting Dame L and that's a fact unless you want to go Melo A. You know what happened with that.We need to take our chance on the draft. We will be paying too much for a free agent and bring back Rose and others. Next year we go for the big free agent and maybe one of this years pics may be a winner.

Yeah that would be a pretty complete team. Shooting is always a concern with DeRozan in the lineup but I’d still take a chance. I’d prefer adding former teammates Lowry and Powell together though.
If the Knicks hold onto Gibson, Rose, and Bullocks cap holds they can open 39 million in cap space. Bringing back Barrett, Bullock, Randle, Robinson, and Gibson should give the Knicks a good base defense, what I am looking for are playoff performers who can help the Knicks next June.
My best guess is that the Knicks go for Reggie Jackson, Alec Burks, Carmelo Anthony, and DMC. Those guys get signed for two year deals, get the Knicks to the second round next season, and then become trade fodder for the KAT/ DLo trade in January of 2023.

I like any dream where we get something (actually anything) back for Frank and Knox.
Would keep the picks though. IMO, the board needs some new young busts to fight over.

I like any dream where we get something (actually anything) back for Frank and Knox.

You know frank and knox have no real value, even if you attach 5 1st round picks..
