Why Gary Trent JR though? Undersized SG who would be similar to Grimes, IQ, RJ.
No Andre Drummond rumors!?!?!?!?!!
Exactly.
Just saw this on Twitter
Sources — Knicks brass will meet with Kawhi Leonard during free agency. #NBA

Rumored to the Heat along with Monk. Cheap options to plug into their complicated salary cap situation.

6'6"ish and stout- not too undersized. Just thinking about him as having some upside, but just read he is likely to re-sign for 3 yrs/50mm

I too thought he was all but off the table, but he's a nice player

They can match for Lonzo and then trade him mid season.
Sounds likely- Redick said Griffin couldn't be trusted and lied to him, so it wouldn't surprise me If they put out that they weren't keeping Lonzo, got the Bulls to lower their guard and offer a reasonable contract, then matched it.
Any TJ McConnell to the Knicks rumors/interest?- seems to be the forgotten PG option!
The Miami Heat are expected to sign Jimmy Butler to a contract extension this offseason.Butler is eligible for a four-year extension worth approximately $181 million.
Butler's contract from 2019 was worth $141 million over four years with a a $37.7 million player option in 22-23. Butler's extension would replace his 22-23 option worth $37.7 million and include three more seasons beyond that one.
Miami has between August 6th and October 18th to extend Butler.
Butler led the Heat to The Finals in 2020 and had was a Third Team All-NBA selection in 20-21 despite a difficult bout with COVID-19.
Yowzer- does that mean they're less likely to match Duncan Robinson (because with whatever they give Lowry, their salary roll will be quite nasty in a few years), or more likely (because I shows they're willing to pay and to hell with the cap consequences)?
Hmm, wonder if the Wiz are pivoting back to Schroeder (maybe a sign and trade sending Bertans to the Lakers, (if they're having second thoughts about his contract):
A Spencer Dinwiddie to the Washington Wizards sign-and-trade has been heavily rumored over the past week but those plans have lost some momentum due to the Brooklyn Nets not signaling much interest in taking back either Kyle Kuzma or Montrezl Harrell on what is an already massive luxury tax bill. The Wizards would like to move both Kuzma and Harrell.
Dinwiddie could still end up with the Wizards, but he now seems like the preferred point guard option for the New Orleans Pelicans if Kyle Lowry does end up with the Miami Heat.
There have also been reports of a two-year, $40 million offer from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

I'm presuming the OKC are just thinking if they sign Dinwiddie to that they can trade him for a pick at either the deadline or in the next offseason
I'd like Marcus Smart, he's expiring and would be the perfect mentor for McBride (who reminds me a bit of him). Maybe a Bullock sign and trade (Celtics were rumoured to be interested in him)
Brad Stevens has been cold blooded, getting rid of all the players that p'd him off (TT and Kemba)

I'm guessing this means $20M per. Good player, but I wouldn't be thrilled with that price tag. Explains why they had to let Frank go. There can only be one!

He'd be a nice luxury, but this team needs a real PG, preferably one who can shoot consistently.
Take it for what's worth, but Berman also reporting Cam Payne in the mix.
MUCH better than Fournier... ug, anything but $20mm+ for that guy

there a lot of reasons to like and to dislike Marcus. But he is not the guy we're looking for.

The Turner for Mitch move is the one I’ve been waiting on but wonder if Indy lost interest once they grabbed I Jackson in draft.
One issue I’ve heard is Turner is not good on pick/roll or around basket but obviously can shoot with some range.
Would love to swap Mitch for Turner tbh - just don’t trust Mitch in my stomach.
By the same logic, we should bring Bobby Portis back and keep Mitch.
Turner though is elite shot blocker - I think #1 in league per game and as noted I don’t trust Mitch with injury/development (don’t want Portia back either)

Fournier shot 463 from 3pt line last year - DeMar 257.
We need more 3pters made, and we need a PG. Fournier at least makes some sense in that regard.
But, our biggest need is PG, and all of the rumors around top PGs like Ball is other teams?
