fournier will start at SF and Burks will be off the bench. I like that Burks can hit shots in the 4th and clutch. Not a lot of guys have that gene

Separately, Fournier has the advantage of hurting the Celts a bit. that is an added bonus

still preferred Oubre because of his length, but Fornier should be more reliable shooter

Right now Knicks bench got Burks, IQ, Grimes, Rose, McBride and that's a lot of guards

Starting to see comments on twitters accounts that have the name "Knicks Fan" in the tittle making comments wondering if in the next few days if a trade is coming.

Quite frankly, I'm the same

me too: CHarlotte and Sacramento each have excess pgs and have needs. Can see Obi or Mitch being involved and depending on the particulars (e.g. Fox) possibly even RJ (though i hope that's not the case)

Overpay IMHO but fits nicely with Dallas

Bullock will fit great there - just think he was worth 10m if Fournier is worth 20m

happy for him but disagree about the fit. Dallas now has like 30/year tied up with inconsistent SFs.

edit: he will benefit from Luka, but the opponent still gets to rest guarding him, and he won't be playing starters minutes I don't think

He will back up THJr and help spread the floor.

right but that's a lot to pay for a backup isn't it? Also don't they have that SF with the hyphenated last name who has played well for them? Again happy for Bullock and i think Kidd will come up with something clever for Dallas (he's still the architect for putting the ball in Giannis's hands to the current degree). But Dallas needs a lot of help or Luka's temper is going to defcon 2

MLE maybe? I think Marks or Beer or someone of that ilk said on Twitter that they could have 7 mil in space depending on contract structure. And once they hit the cap they get the MLE, no?

jskinny35 @ 8/2/2021 9:40 PM
Could be wrong but though DeRozan was headed to Chicago? We have no money left anyway - right?
NYKMentality @ 8/2/2021 9:41 PM
Sorry for getting my Free Agency hopes up Knicks fans and now being left disappointed.

Already can't wait for Summer League hopefully these young kids can fire me up again.

Probably not unless the Burks and Noel deals were prep for a S&T. Doesn’t sound like that is the case.

So Graham went to Pels for just under 12m per season. Bullock at 10 instead of Fournier at 20 could have almost given us the money and we would have more shooting at PG. Guess they didn't like Graham but not sure why as this seemed affordable.

Full disclosure, Graham went to the Pels for 12 mil and a first round pick...

The knicks basically will bring the same team for the next 3-4 years. No more cap flexibility. This tells me that they are confident with the potential of the youth. With the contracts in the books a possibility of a superstar trage is still alive. Now that is the only way yhe knicks can get a superstar. Next year will be rough other east teams loaded up and improved even just with the eye test. Hopefully the knicks can still be competitive and get to the play-in tournament.

Bold predictions, towards the end of the season next year Duece may take over the starting point guard and Grimes will see significant playing time as well

Leon and Wes...Dudes, it's been 30 yrs since we have had a reliable PG..s

This haul is not much different than phil and mills not addressing the PG situation with any kind of urgency

Rose is not a starter anymore...

jskinny35 @ 8/2/2021 10:24 PM
Rose is our best PG but he should not start unless we want to retire him by next offseason. He's amazing if we pace him so he can last - it's not like CP3 who doesn't use his athleticism/body as much... there's a lot of wear and tear that will catch up at some point.

Consistency is a good thing for a team. I don't really see the defense falling off next season if we run the same rotation back.

I hope this means Quickley is ready to be the starting PG and Thibs is ready to start him. Rose can still run our bench units.

One thing about Noel last season- his turnover rate was at a career high and his usage a career low. I'm hoping it means that his bubbling every other pass is not really who he is. His last season in OKC he had a 2-1 dunks-to ratio. Last season in NY it was 1-1.

Fournier might not be the marksman that D. Robinson or THJ are, but he has a lot more tricks in his bag.

So yeah, kind of disappointed but again, f that. I'm excited to root for the same guys again. Now let's extend Randle.

Damn

martin @ 8/2/2021 11:16 PM
So check this out, this is the first year I have noticed that both Shams and Woj are purposely mentioning agent names in their tweets. Interesting
