C: Mitchell Robinson.
PF: Julius Randle.
SF: Duncan Robinson.
SG: R.J. Barrett.
PG: Lonzo Ball.
That's an extremely fun starting 5 to watch and remember these words....
• Duncan Robinson is the fastest player in NBA History (ever) to drain 500 3's.
• Duncan Robinson is top 13 All-Time in NBA 3PT%.
Outside of Kawhi Leonard? Duncan Robinson is the only potential SF I want. This kid should've been on team USA and he's absolute FIRE.
• And he's no team defense killer either because in 2019 Miami ranked 10th in NBA Defense and last year of 2020 Miami's Defense Ranked top 5 (5th) and during the playoffs vs. Milwaukee last year Duncan Robinson ranked #1 amongst all Miami Heat defenders in advanced defensive statistics.
I just don't see Riley letting him walk, especially to the Knicks.
Also I've moved on from Ball- there seems to be only polite "oh the Knicks have considered him' from Bagely rather than any enthusiasm. Seems to be more strongly rumored to go to the Pacers or Bulls, or Raptors.
Maybe taking on Buddy Hield is a good fall back option for us? (still think with the fire he shows, he has untapped potential under a coach like Thibs vs being on the Kings).

Please lord, no! Why are people pretending Dinwiddie didn't just have his second ACL tear less than a year ago and looked like trash this season before he did it. The money he's saying he wants is beyond ridiculous

Dinwiddie looks solid in the few clips I have seen. These posts are reminding me of the argument this board had against getting CP3 from the Pelicans.
My only questions on Dinwiddie are his shooting and his head. With a changing NBA rules on drawing fouls, not clear to me a guy like Dinwiddie will get as many foul calls. His outside shooting has been suspect. His loud disparaging talk against the Knicks makes me question whether that personality is right for this team.
Other than that, sign me up.

Dinwiddie can’t shoot, is coming off an ACL tear, doesn’t really defend, isn’t that young, and has attitude concerns.

Dinwiddie and Schroeder are just letting the Pelicans know how much to offer, hopefully

Unfortunately for Miami, Pat Riley will have no say-so. None whatsoever.
Because our Knicks are absolutely fully loaded with offseason Fire Power (A+ available salary cap space).
The last thing Pat Riley wants to do is to get into an offseason bidding war against NY for Duncan Robinson.
Because he'll lose. And he'll lose big.
And even if he were to outbid NY and ended up winning Duncan Robinson, he'll still lose; due to the Knicks just completely crippling Miami's cap space.
N.Y could offer Duncan Robinson $20M and still have $32M remaining. Riley could match that $20M and Miami would then have $0.00 remaining (they'd be screwed).
Trust me man. Pat Riley doesn't want any smoke with our New York Knicks this offseason. If we want Duncan Robinson? He's ours. And all Pat Riley can do about it, is watch.

Exactly man.
And who the fk is "Spencer Dinwiddie"? This guy is the biggest overrated scrub in the league.
• In 2014-2015 as a rookie he only started 1 game for DETROIT.
• In 2015-2016 as a 2nd year player he only played in 12 games with 0 starts for DETROIT.
• In 2016-2017 he made 18 starts and helped lead Brooklyn to a losing record of 20-62.
• In 2017-2018 he FINALLY started 58 games and what did he do? He helped lead his Brooklyn Nets to another losing record of 28-54.
• In 2018-2019? He stunk so bad (just the year before) that Brooklyn only let him start 4 games.
• In 2019-2020 Brooklyn let's him start again. 49 starts. And congratulations on another losing season of 35-37?
• Last year in 2020-2021? 🤣 A whopping 3 games played and only averaged 6.7 points. Only 3 games played because of yet another ACL injury.
This guy is absolute crap and he's got a career 3PT% of only .318%.
He was drafted in the 2nd round and now is 28 years old (damn near 30 years old) and has already suffered TWO not 1 but 2 ACL injuries.
This guy isn't worth anything more than $5M and I'd be pissed even @ $5M if he took any minutes away from either Quickley or McBride @ PG and I'd probably quit basketball if he prevented us from signing a Lonzo Ball, CP3, Graham or LLowry type of PG etc.
This guy is a career loser. He's injury prone. He's damaged goods and he's pure trash.

Correct, but as he was a Net, gets embalmed in shamelessly deferential press coverage, along with Lavert, D-Lo, Kenny Atkinson and Jarrett Allen- once they leave the Nets press bubble for the real world, they get exposed as the average talents they are.
“He’s one of those guys that continues to get better every year,” Thibodeau said. “He and Kyle, that backcourt is about as good as it gets in the NBA. Both of them are great competitors. Smart, tough, and they make their teammates a lot better. DeMar has added a lot to his game. He scores in so many different ways. He puts a lot of pressure on you. He’s athletic and he’s got a great demeanour about him. He doesn’t get rattled. I watched them a lot this [past] year and I thought he had an unbelievable season.”While DeRozan leads by example first, Thibodeau had high praise for his ability to step away from the limelight and play the role that was asked of him with Team USA.
“His demeanour is great, his attitude is great and his approach is great,” Thibodeau said. “There’s all different types of leadership, but his leadership is the best because he leads by example. He does all of the right things each and every day. That’s why his career has gone the way it has. He’s never satisfied. He’s hard working. He cares about his teammates. He cares about winning. That goes a long way.
No question, it’s his work ethic [that allows him to continue to improve],” Thibodeau continued. “Obviously he’s talented. You can’t do what he’s done without a lot of talent, but I think it’s also his drive and his intelligence. That’s why each year, he’s gotten better and better. You can’t say enough about the way that he plays. Each aspect of his game has gotten better. You have to be alert and aware in transition, half court, driving the ball, catch and shoot, posting, cutting, keeps enormous pressure on your defence at all times.”
Thibodeau credits Lowry’s relentless nature for where his career has taken him.“You learn from all of your experiences,” Thibodeau said. “For him to do what he’s done in this league tells you how mentally tough he is. He’s found a home and I think when you look at that backcourt, that’s a big part of why they win the way that they do. You can tell the fans have an appreciation for what they’ve done, but I think more importantly, they’re teammates. They know that they play to win, they play within the team, and that’s really what it’s all about.”

I'm living in an echo chamber here. but the more I think about...
1. Everybody. everywhere says Lowry and DeRozan are best friends. Knicks are the only team that can offer them both big contracts.
2. This loves these guys! He knows them pretty well from USA basketball.
3. They fit right in. No one could accuse them of chasing rings. They will be real contributors and not be a sidekick. But Knicks are deep enough that Randle and RJ can pick up the slack.
4. It's New York.
I mean. I could understand the "hype" if he actually contributed to Brooklyn's playoff run last year. But he didn't. Because he only played 3 games. And only averaged 6 points off the BENCH. Because he tore his ACL (again, x2).
No thnx. This guy is absolute trash. And is already 28 years old (damn near 30 years old).

Dinwiddie shot 37% on catch and shoot threes in the two years prior to last season. Yes, he didn't look good in the few games he played last season, but small sample size. Imagined if we judged RJ on the first few games he played last season? Dinwiddie is a good player, but he clearly isn't a first option and he shouldn't be the one heaving up threes at the end of the shot clock. How much is that worth? Personally, I wouldn't go past $15M per.
This guy is an absolute scrub who's 28 years old and pushing 30 years old with already 2 ACL surgeries.
You can find the next Spencer during the bottom of every 2nd round.
$15M? 😂🤣 I wouldn't even give this jag $5M man lol

Evan should probably get around $15M per. He's a good player, but he is who is. Probably a third option player. Guys like THJ, Fournier, Dinwiddie are in the same tier as players IMHO. I'd probably have Dinwiddie slightly higher on my list since he fills a more immediate need. Fournier takes slight edge in terms of regular season. But, this is without even looking up, I want to say Fournier's performances in the playoffs are some of the biggest statistical drop offs I've ever seen. THJ is who he is. We've seen enough of him over the years to know what he can do.

Better off trading for Hield than giving him anything like that
CP3 staying with suns
Conley staying with Jazz
Lonzo to the Bulls
D Rose maybe returning to the Bulls
Lowry being targeted heavily by Pelicans, Heat, sixers (possibly), Mavs
Dinwiddie to Wiz
Please don’t go after Shroeder.
