Now we know why the rumors of mutual interest between him and the Knicks started.

Better off trading for Hield than giving him anything like that

I love Buddy Hield and will fight anyone who slanders him!

Syphilis it is!

Kelly Oubre moments after he talks glowingly about is fit with Thibs: "Yeah, me and Pops are a match made in heaven. His equal opportunity offense fits perfectly with my erratic three-point shot and chaotic drives to the hoop. I don't care what Charles says, I love me some thick bottomed San Antonio women!"

If it's true CP3 is staying in Phoenix and Lonzo Ball is going to Chicago well that absolutely stinks.

Might as well just continue developing Immanuel Quickley who has the potential to develop into an absolute NBA star.

C: Mitchell Robinson.
PF: Julius Randle.
SF: Duncan Robinson.
SG: R.J. Barrett.
PG: Immanuel Quickley.

Fk it. Sign me up.

Good. That means Duncan Robinson one of the greatest 3PT shooters of All-Time becomes a KNICK 100%.

This kid in only two years of starting just became the fastest player EVER to 500 3's made and already top 13 All-Time in NBA 3PT%.

He's what the Knicks desperately need in order to space the floor for Julius Randle come playoff basketball.

I think plan z will be take on DJ Augustine’s contract from the Rockets, and he’ll end up being our PG. And we’ll trade for Terrence Ross.

NYKMentality @ 7/31/2021 5:15 PM

Yeah but if we're not able to land one of the top tier FA PGs?

I'd much rather just develop Immanuel Quickley 2021-2022 and then SPLASH come 2022's fully loaded FA class.

If we miss out of Lonzo Ball, CP3, Lowry etc the worst thing we could do is reach on lesser PGs.

Not if they can be had cheaply- Graham or Monk would be okay (Monk as a Burke replacement).

My advice: curb your expectations for this years free agency, think it will play out pretty much like last years for us. Maybe we can do a trade to get a more interesting player.

IQ barely showed PG ability last year off the bench. He is years away - if ever - from being a PG

Lol.

Really like the idea of Duncan Robinson but are we connected to him in any way? Hear rumors about Fournier, Oubre and even the Lowry/Derozan possibilities... - nothing about Duncan Robinson.

Also - is he more than a catch and shoot-type player or can he create off the dribble? If he can't create - what is Duncan worth compared to Bullock at 7-9m per season?

It seems that there are deliberate moves by the Knicks front office to amass as much cap space for this offseason free agency. If there were reports that they want to maintain cap flexibility for next year's free agency i guess creating as much cap space now still aligns with that approach.

There is a possibility that a number of knicks free agency targets are starting to be linked to other teams(Lowry to Miami, Ball to Chicago, Oubre to the Spurs). How do you guys feel if after the end of free agency the knicks comes up with Fournier and Dennis Schroder on multi year contracts?

I think they will be upgrades from last year's roster but i think it wont even keep the knicks from contending for the 4th seed next year. I feel its pretty underwhelming offseason if that is the case.

gradyandrew @ 7/31/2021 9:59 PM
NOP protecting Ball and Hart makes things interesting. NOP can sign and trade Lonzo but only if he doesn't sign with another team first. I'm not sure how this plays with their trade to open up space- maybe they really like Valanciunas? Report is they were hoping to land CP.

I will be honest, those moves make me seriously reconsider free agency. It looks like they are clueless down there and the possibility of Zion pulling a KP increases.

Im starting to get worried. If we look at news reports and rumors, the Knicks might no longer have the pick on the PG litter. Im probably over reacting it feels like free agency hadnt started yet but Lowry, Lonzo Conley and CP3 might already be off the table.

I hate to be stuck with Schroder and Dinwiddie. Maybe Cameron Payne will be low cost option? There are reports of the knicks poaching the Lakers back court of Schroder and Horton-Tucker. I think im more interested in poaching players from the Heat with Kendrick Nunn and Duncan Robinson instead, but I haven't seen a single report of the knicks showing interest in the Heat duo.

Maybe the knick endgame this offseason is to just bring in 1 yr deals and just stay afloat until they are ready to make a splash in next year's offseason. A part of me would like that more than having Schroder or Dinwiddie. Giving more playing time to the team's young players. But with Thibs coaching i foubt that will happen.

gradyandrew @ 7/31/2021 10:48 PM
We picked up Mitchell's option! Knicks will have a long window to work on his extension. I think Robinson and his development are the keys to getting past Philly and Mil in the playoffs. Phoenix won Ayton's minutes throughout the finals (not sure about game 6). Knicks could have played it safe and made him an RFA, this way Knicks preserve max cap space.
