Credits Knicks staff with helping him get big…

Honestly, pretty excited to see him on the court.

Briggs?

I think he looks big and filled out like I never expected he would or could.

Love 2 see it. Hope it doesn't affect his hops and mobility

i'm ok with him losing some if in exchange he can be a little more steady on the court, not get pushed around, and not suffer so many injuries.

Hoping for a great year from him, an extension and a long Knicks career. He shows commitment alone in those pics, but if he can also show maturity to this franchise, I think they return back the favor with a contract to star a Knick.

Can you give me a blurb or another link? The Great Firewall here blocks Twitter in all its wonderful manifestations. I hope we're talking about Mitchell getting jacked enough to keep Embiid and Capela honest.

Just a tweet from Mitchell Robinson’s account. He’s showing a bit of growth in his chest and quads. Looks like he is around 270-280 which matches his earlier weigh in tweet from about 6 weeks ago. He looks like he is ready to body some players on the block while boxing out.

Looks good. Hope he is working all day on a catch and shoot 10 footer. Looking forward to his return.

Let me see a consistent jump hook, some moves in the post, improved FT shooting, and an ability to use the glass on certain shots under 10 feet. Big muscles are fine, but he needs to show some big man offense.

I'm not buying it. He's got a claim as the best finisher in NBA history after 3 seasons on a near minimum contract. Why should he be doing anything but flushing dunks all day long? 10 feet is still dunking range if he's getting the ball on the go.

Watching Obi and Noel is a stark contrast. You can't teach hands and finishing ability; it's innate. Jump hooks, post moves, and bank shots by Robinson are a win for the defense.

C'mon! Kemba is one of the top PnR guards in the league,Fournier,Barrett, and Randle can all spread the floor, drive, and pass. Robinson would have to be a Curry type shooter for defenses to have to worry about him from outside. It's not easy to dunk like Mitchell! KP had about 5 games as put back P before defenses figured him out- Mitchell keeps doing it because no one can stop him.

Last thing I want to see is Mitchell clanking jump shots. His ability to crash the rim is probably the best defensive strategy on Embiid, via foul trouble. If anything the Atlanta series should highlight that. Capela's best shooting season was identical to Robinson's worst. The difference? Capela has twice the usage.

Other Knicks just need to get him the ball.

It should open things up for the Knicks with (healthy?) Kemba and Fournier on the floor in place of Payton and Bullock. I’ve posted these shot charts and other teams can easily cheat. Our starting lineup doesn’t have the infinite range that a GS or Portland team has, but other teams shouldn’t be able to shift as easily. Offense should be a bit more dynamic (we looked stale at times). We have 4 guys that can handle the ball and shoot above average from 3.

He needs to have skills for his position. Nobody wants him to become a jump shooter, but a few years ago he's showing us video of him working on 3s. I don't want him take tons of jump shots each game, and if he takes a 3, he should be benched, but if he can hit a short jumper within the flow of our offense, the team will benefit.

Watch him finish if he gets an offensive rebound, but can't dunk it. He looks amateurish at times, and gets his shot blocked or doesn't use the glass properly. Why can't he polish his game? Why can't he spend a summer, if not injured, just working on his foul shooting and post-up moves/footwork?

How can you not want him to have a short jump hook...how can he not have a consistent move or two in the post? Doesn't mean you feature him on offense, but they are in his toolbox. And he MUST be a more consistent FT shooter, or his value is diminished, and if he shoots free throws more efficiently, he might be able to hit a short jumper in an emergency

He will benefit from having Kemba & Fournier on the team, as well as a healthy Rose, but this attitude that he shouldn't try to broaden his skill set puzzles me.

Only 24 hours in a day,so I am not opposed to him improving, I just think he should be concentrating on the skills that are most fit for his position. Free throw shooting is the big one, so I'd rather him spend more time on his free throws and less on jump shots. Tyson Chandler was a good example. During the 2013 offseason he spent time working on his jump shot too- which he used just once in season. Those 3 point shots were indicative of the bad advice he got during previous offseason. Mike Woodson's evaluation of his defense at the beginning of this season (bad) is indicative of what he should be working on.

Yea I have come to the conclusion that him training his jump shot is a waste of time. The way he is wired he never puts himself in a situation where he even has a chance to shoot a jump shot. After every screen he rolls hard to the rim. I don't think I have ever seen him Pick and pop once. He never finds an open space so he can shoot the ball. I am just not sure where the jump shot opportunities will come from.

If he would take his ass out of the paint to give others operating room the baseline jumper is there, the elbow jumper is there for the taking. you can't tell me it's not because Noah thrive in Thibs system and was pretty solid from 12 to 14 feet out.

The same spots OBI takes his perimeter shots is exactly where mitch needs to be, but his ass ain't comfortable out there..

On a PnR he's rolling to the RIM 100% of the time, and that's only successful 2 out of 10 times, teams will defend that with there eyes close when they know the only move you got is an ally oop

If he becomes a 70% FT shooter, he might be able to hit a J in an emergency...but people still seem to be sleeping on his post game, which goes hand in hand with offensive rebounds. If he get an offensive rebound and can't put the ball in from 3 ft, what is the point?

He needs some kind of game in the post, and a short hook shot he can use after an offensive rebound. I will continue to say that his inability to develop consistent/reliable post-up moves is glaring, and will keep him from reaching his full potential.

SergioNYK @ 8/16/2021 1:53 PM
I don't think we need Robinson to shoot 3s or post up with the weapons we have on offense. I just want him to stay healthy, rebound, block shots and challenge for DPOTY.

Just to be clear here...

If he doesn't go immediately back up with the ball, there is no point?

Getting the ball into the hands of Walker, Rose, Fournier, Barrett, Randle, or Burks or Quickley with 14 seconds on the clock and keeping it out of he other team's end of the floor is without a point.

Huh...

I've been watching basketball wrong.
