Doesn’t mean less than a championship isnt tolerable. But I’ve learned from UConn and living in Patriots country— when u have the good— championship is the only goal. That’s the way to look at it.

Theres an ultimate goal as a fan--winning. Of course theres different level of fans--and of course its all a form of entertainment but there is something special about being a champion. I think as a player you must believe in your heart you can win--beat anyone. I think the Knicks might just have a team like that. And this is the first time in 20+ years
I don't know man. It seems like I've heard a variation of "a shoe size away from a championship" about 100 times more this offseason than "coming back two games after a season ending injury to score multiple 50 point games in the finals." Doesn't the fact that KD is the consensus MVP favorite over Giannis a pretty strong counterpoint to winning as the ultimate goal? Giannis won and somehow all the offseason chatter is about the revamped Lakers，on a mission Nets，and dysfunctional 76ers. Seems like if winning were the ultimate goal there would be more respect shown to the champions rather than hand wringing that losing Pops Tucker will be a big regret come June.
It's more about the journey for me- sure a chip would be great, but the 90s Knicks meant a lot to me because of the journey, the way they played etc. Would anyone have preferred the 90s to have been a Brooklyn Nets style star gathering who won a chip the following year?

We learned last year that the team did not have enough offensive weapons, so they went and got Kemba and Evan. The team will go through the playoffs this year and management will evaluate where we are weak. The team should have the attitude that they are going to go all the way but the more realistic goal for this year will be to make it out of the first round.

This is how I see it. The goal will be to get a top 3 seed and an easier first round opponent. I don't think the Knicks are at a level yet where they can beat the Bucks or Nets in a series，those teams are too good. If the Knicks make it to the second round with their assets and cap space intact，they then can make a strong run for an All NBA type guy. I think KAT is the goal there. He needs a new start and it's not going to happen in Minnesota. I'm not sure about how Thibs sees it but it seems like KAT has the talent to be a Finals MVP.
The goal is to beat the odds like we did last year. I would never put a cap on anything. If we win a chip, great. But if we do better than last year, that's still a successful season. And I believe the knicks have the secret sauce and will sprinkle that cultural changing seasoning from last yr onto new players this year. Knicks look good so far. If RJ improves his defense and picks up where Bullock left, this team will be tough to beat.
This team is good enough to make the ECF because the play defense better than any team in the EAST, and now that we have the PGs to push the ball and shoot the 3 ball.. you have 4 play makers on the starting unit, and 3 coming of the bench.
I honestly do not expect to ever see a championship in my lifetime so I'm content with just being a good team after being a joke the last 20 years.

I had the luxury of enjoying it with my other teams also and its so rewarding. I was a season ticket holder through all those Yankee runs in the 90-00s and saw all that young talent come up. Same with the Giants and watching Eli and crew over the years.

I lived through the chip years in the '70's and suffered through the McAdon't/Spenser Deadwood/Louie Orr/Ken the Animal Banister/Pat Scummings years and lived and died with BK and Ewing and Spree and Melo. If you're not out to hope your team wins every game by 30 and gets a chip by blowing 4-4-4 through the Finals (to quote the elite philosopher Moses Malone) then you need to re-read the definition of "fanatic". I'm glad 2013 was a joke to some people. 
We've got a fragile, yet exciting platoon at PG, El Cid Satan is gone, Frankie isn't around to be kicked anymore, and Kevin Knox will be a slightly interesting bit piece in replacement for the board. Somehow, I doubt he's as polarizing as Frankie ended up being (and still is, God bless his soul).
A pile of good yoots, solid vets, and an All Star who I really think is going to have one huge chip on his shoulders, if he's even reading a fraction of what's been written and reported about him. Just what we would want. A possibly angry man who works insanely hard and gets others to do the same. Big contract let down. Stage fright and wetting the bed in front of people. Not sustainable. No real track record. I'd have all that crap made into posters and hung all over the locker room and Tarrytown. Hopefully Thibs is pressing all the right buttons with Randle as well.

Last time I checked its not a question of fans not wanting it, its the knicks doing what they can wihtout being stupid long term. Just like every other team.
Briggs proclamation or yours holds no weight with reality. If you want to pound your chest with “win or go home” thats your biz. But lets not pretend any of us really matter.
Reality is its the journey. Winning is never certain and the magic of a team doing it creates memories.
Face it, the moment a chip is one its not about that, it was everything that led up to it. Each game, Getting the seed, the series, the tension, etc. The moment the final buzzer goes off we are happy. Then we go to bed and go to work the next day.
After that what is the thing you take with you? The season as it happend. Some here are big fans becuase of the ewing era and the moments they enjoyed. A chip would be nice but it was the ride. You make mention often of the 2013 season and how you enjoyed it. It ended pretty badly that last series.
Did you enjoy last year or you stuck on the ATL and Randle not performing? If so, thats your choice. It is sad though.

FANATIC. It's not that hard to understand. Maybe BRIGGS hasn't let go of his inner NBA Rookie of the Year dreams yet. I know I'm still running full court at 60 all summer long and would verbally punch someone in the face if they keep trying to tell me that the Knicks aren't worth the time of day.
