Knicks · Frank the French Prince is Ballin’ in Dallas (page 3)

Exactly. Zion Williamson will go down as one of the top 5 biggest NBA BUSTS of All-Time due to his weight and lack of work ethic. He got paid $$$$ and then couldn't care less about ever playing again.

Knicks fans would be killing Zion right now and BEGGING for R.J. Barrett.

The only player I'd take over R.J. Barrett from that 1st round draft class is Ja Morant and maybe Darius Garland.

R.J. Barrett is going to develop into an NBA two way All-Star.

This new NBA need two PG on the court for transition teams averaging above 100 pts ..
Well tonight, Frank's complimentary performance moved-up into the Mavs starter lineup (during the 126 player Covid-Protocol) to beat the Portland Blazers 136-117

Frank & Brunson and Frank & Knight looked good in a lineup.
The Mavs grabbed the lead at tip-off and stretch the lead throughout the game for a high scoring win.

Please. Stop.

He played 23 minutes with only 8 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound, 0 steals and 4 fouls.

He's pure trash.

They won because Porzingis exploded for 34 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks with 0 turnovers.

Frank did damn near absolutely nothingness but guys like Powell, Finley-Smith, Brunson, Green and Knight ALL put up solid numbers and KP killed it; but Frank did nothingness.

Usually, when you change jobs and the job you left doesn't see any value in you. It's a wake up call to perform better in your next job, vs your previous job. Also, Frank is in Euro heaven with Dallas, so I'm not surprised. Payton is also balling in phoenix, but he's in a roll off the bench where he can come in and perform with little expectations. NY is and always will be a harder place to perform for average players. You really have to be built for it, or NY media / fans / pressure will chew you up and spit you out. I'm glad these Ex Knickerbockers are playing well. Good for them. If we bring them back to the knicks, they will play like they did before they left.

So far we know Thibs & Randle are clueless of working with NBA PG ....
Thibs has got rid of some good PG during his NBA head-coaching career .. Nate, Rubio, Lavine, Rivers, plus Thibs were the number one reason a young D.Rose career stayed injury-prone in Chi-Town.
And Randle's creepy performance as a PF/PG has made a lot of PG performances look bad by being in their lineup, starting with Lou Williams, Alonzo Ball, Caruso, Bledsoe, Payton, Rivers, Smith, Frank, and now Kemba.

Phil Jackson drafted a young big defensive pass-first PG-Frank to put in a lineup alongside D.Rose leadership for NBA growth. And Mills/Perry kick D.Rose off the Knicks, and bench Frank for PG-Jack and SG Tim Hardaway to have a 29 win season.

The Knicks Roster since 2004 has always been 85% back-up players on the roster, we had head coaches that change the starter lineup 20 times out of 50 games. SMH
The Knicks fans expectation has always been high on all the Knicks players, but the Knicks mismanagement and decision-making could never get it right two seasons in a row, which made 90% of all the decent and star FA stay far away from the Knicks organization during each offseason.
And Thibs foolish action n decision-making on the Timberwolves had Thibs Banned from the NBA !!!

Kemet, I don't really read what you post because most of the time you don't make sense. I can't tell if it is a language barrier thing or something else.

We could have brought back Frank to be a wing player on what was essentially a one year deal instead of getting locked into Fournier for 4 years $75 million. Burks would have started at SF and stayed there instead of Thibs delusions about him being a PG costing us a big losing streak

Exactly.

Frank is now in his 5th NBA season but yet only has a player Efficiency Rating of 10.0 this year.

Deuce is only a ROOKIE but yet already has a Player Efficiency Rating of 18.2.

End of discussion.

Frank is a 5th year bust.

well he IS an NBA player because Dallas signed him and he's been in the rotation most of the year. So lets remove the knee jerk emotion (save that for Jet fans predicting 60 wins) and just look at them.

Frank: Signed 2-yr/$3.8M contract Thursday, September 16, 2021
McBride: Signed 3-yr/$4.3M contract Friday, August 6, 2021

Frank is exactly 2 years older. Frank is longer and taller. McBride is stronger and more explosive.

Deuce was 2nd rounder. Frank a bottom tier UFA. Both were pretty available if you wanted either. Both have potential. If Frank ever stayed healthy and could shoot the 3 with any reliability he would be a very good player, at worst a nice bench guy for playoff team. His defense is still excellent.

McBride is our guy and I am very high on him. Really seems like a Thibs guy all the way and brings a lot to the table. Hopefully he develops as we hope

Point is OP seemed to think "Frank is balling" and he's had a couple good games starting for them.

MVP's play big minutes. Its why they are MVP's too.
Rubio played well under Thibs or not?
Nate had a incredible run with Bulls.
Thibs coached Randle to most improved player and all NBA.
Thibs resuscitated Drose from Detroit obscurity to a great near 6th man type!
Thibs coahced a 23 win team to one 10gms over .500.

He plays yoot. He is different than in the past. He is not perfect, he lacks a chip. He is not having a good season. Not sure why slamming his negative points without balance is necessary?

Simple explanation is that the self proclaimed experts can't stand when a coach disagrees with their premature exaggerated opinions and dream scenarios. Frank was a very good defender. He was starting to get a better 3pt shot. However, he was just a role player. One that could be replaced very easily. At some point, teams have to move on to players that have higher ceilings. McBride is just one of the many that do. Fyi, It's telling that a defensive minded coach still thought that Frank's defense was just not enough for him to be a part of his rotation.

Payton, Rose, Kemba, Deuce, Grimes, Q, Burks are all better value and players than Frank.

Gotta be honest though, was disappointed that we did not roll him out there against Trae...

Nalod @ 12/29/2021 6:44 AM
The stats on Frank were one thing. The eye test of his defense was another. He deflected passes, filled the lanes, and gave his opponents a hard time. We watched and hoped that shot would fall. It didn’t enough. HE got hurt at opportune times.
Why the cult? Hope. Why the hate? Seemed like for some it was more important to maintain a status of “Im right, look at me!”

Frank is still in the NBA. THe defense is still there to keep him in it for now. His age still young enough to be a prospect.
Nobody is lamenting he is gone. The point I think for some are that he had potential and still might.

Like I always said, Frank made it easy for a coach to bench him, unlike Grimes who has made tough to sit him, and jumped ahead of some vets on the depth chart...

Do not think it was hate. Even the ones with doubt wanted to be proven wrong. It was a mix of calling out all the over hype and stubborn stance for all those bunkered around it being a "Phil pick". Most fans have unrealistic expectations of draft picks. Feel it is the worst thing that can happen for a young kid. Reason why we need Obi, IQ, Grimes and Deuce to have ample time to develop. Without the unrealistic cries and pressure for them to replace an established vet.
