I call draft shenanigans. I like Dyson but no way is he going top #5. He’s still not nba strong and has to leap with both feat to dunk. Plus when he shoots he dips the ball down a bit. He looks like a lottery pick but the same flaws that had him mocked to around 10 are all still on display here. Then you consider his below average vertical he put up for his size and it becomes even more unlikely he’s going top 5.
I actually think he needs a year of NBA weight training and work on his shot and he’ll be pretty good, but unlike a GM my job isn’t on the line if he doesn’t and you take him 1-5. Of all the things he does that little dip before he shoot is the red flag that he needs better conditioning. I understand he is still growing too.
Right now I have both Davis and Mathurin as better knick prospects. I like Dyson early and think his fit would be great, but there are real holes to his game. If the Knicks draft him they are drafting him for his future, which doesn’t line up with this FO. They like guys who won player awards in college and showed at least a year of growth while in college. Flipside the Knicks do have a lot of depth, and Dyson long term could be a better player than Mathurin and Davis if he gets NBA strength. Sort of like Obi who honestly needed a year of conditioning though he was drafted in his 20’s.

Second best PG in the draft is hardly the same as the PG we need. Can we not find better value than a 6'0" guard who cannot break his mean 1-on-1, is a woeful FT shooter and could be a major defensive liability?
There is one Trae Young, and then there have been multiple 6'1" and under point guards who may have prospered for a couple of seasons due to their energy and quickness, but then fizzled out.

Okay, I went to like a dozen mock draft sites last evening, from the respected to the fringe. After the first five or six players you have anybody going everywhere. Practically each site had a different projected pick for the Knicks. This is not a complaint - makes it interesting!

The more I’ve watched the tapes the more inclined I’m gonna be to picking jaden Ivey 1. I know he’s fallen to 4 in many mocks. He did not play great down the stretch but to me it’s Ivey 1 Shaden sharp 2 Jabari Smith 3 Benedict mathurin 4

At the extreme risk of provoking some off-color remark from TripleThreat, the comments about Tati Eason's hand size reminded me of Kawhi. Also not known for his offense coming out of college
So while I still want the FO to put a premium on brains and heart (want a real alpha), they should also consider hand size and avoid Duke (unless they're convinced they're looking at Tatum 2.0)

As far as guys who might be there at 11, I see the hype with the measurement on Daniels and Eason, but I see very little on Johnny Davis. He measured nearly 6’6 in shoes with good length at about 6’9 wingspan. Nothing crazy but he’s a very good basketball player. Only 20 years old, proven 3 level shooter/ scorer and a very good defensive player. He’s a true 2-way wing and they are hard to find. His height solidified his ability to play both wing positions, so he’s not boxed into a specific role. He’s a guy who is easy to picture as a major contributors for a contender when you consider his profile. And he has a high floor.
