I would not get too happy. We will do what we always do and win a meaningless game at the end of the season to drop down a pick only for a star to get drafted a pick before us. Especially with Mr all I care about is to win the next game as our coach.

I don't think that's the criticism you meant it to be...

It was not a criticism it was his motto. It's what he says when he plays all the preseason games like its the playoffs. Every other team in the NBA knows that preseason games mean nothing because even though we won all those preseason games this year is a waste. He will do it all over again next preseason.

Ahhh...I'm definitely glad we didn't touch that one. Solid deal for Portland.

Very good deal for the Blazers

Happy with that mindset on the bench. Wish it extended to all of our players too.

That said, thankful we have separation of powers between coach and FO. I've got confidence Leon won't go all in on a win-now move for Thibs if it means sacrificing too much of the future.

How does one create a winning culture and mindset?

It starts with Day 1. Practice. Preseason.

And you always talk about winning games. Even if you are also managing other things that are equally important.

You think guys like Jordan or Kobe took games or minutes off? Nope.

It's difficult to do.

And let's be honest. Post the minutes for RJ and Randle during the preseason and convince us it was way out of line cause I think you will find they are not.

Chandler @ 2/8/2022 12:43 PM

Definitely feel Harden will be a Sixer. No other deal makes near as much sense for Philly or the Nets

Pelicans are a mess. they can build around Zion but what would you think if you were Zion?

As much as I like CJ i think we dodged a bullet. He doesn't fit our time or needs even assuming his health is 100%

the funniest thing in my mind is back when Leon joined and there were rumors about CP3 and i thought that would be a disaster: boy, was i super wrong. This team needs a bona fide leader, and pg and CP fit both of those.

i am on the JR for Fox train but only because i think JR's dark cloud is really bad news for a young team, not because i think FOx is super man.

i am also on any train that clears out some minutes for guys like Deuce, IQ and Obi who i think can actually play, but are presently sitting or being asked to do things that are not their strengths. (Also big on Grimes but he's at least getting minutes)

Yeah we have to get burks, kemba and EF out the door to clear room for the kids . I’m down to build around RJ and the youth .

I would add Noel to that list.

Thanks for the offer but I will politely decline. I have no interest is using any of my time looking at preseason stats. Unlike Thibs I don't think the preseason is important. I don't think winning preseason games instills a winning culture either. That is easily proved by this years team. Undefeated in the preseason and still a disappointing regular season. Too bad to even make the play-ins and too good to get a decent draft pick.

I understand my way of thinking is not for everyone that that is fine. I will tell you how I view sports. When things are going well I enjoy the games. You can look at the game threads at the start of the season as proof of that. However, I also look for red flags. The reason why is because if I can see them scouts who are paid to do real digging on teams will be able to see them and exploit them in the future. So while I was pointing out these things and other fans where telling me who cares we are 5 and 1. I knew it would eventually catch up to us the minute we no longer were in the stretch of game where we had the easiest strength of schedule or facing g league teams due to covid replacements. The fact that our SOS was so easy and we could only manage to hover around .500 should have been a red flag to more people. I understand that is a pessimistic way to view things but too much heartbreak from these same Knicks in the past has shaped me to be this way. Now I see the cliff coming before its here so I can brace for the crash. Come to think of it I think I noticed Quicks plummeting shooting percentages when he plays PG all the way back in summer league.

I am sure a lot of people don't agree with my opinions or views on things. That is fine. One of the wonderful things of this world is the diversity of viewpoints and opinions. Everyone has had different life experiences that causes them to come to different conclusions. There is nothing wrong with that.

Suck up to Zion who still at some fat farm in Portland?
Better NOLA than us to move for 30 year old injury prone player with that salary.

And that's OK but you will find that your complaints about Thibs and the preseason games and minutes played are about as useless as you find actually looking to confirm your assumptions.

You can't complain about something that is not there and also feel good about it, well, the complaining.

Wow! Expected Sac to opt for Haliburton over Fox with all the smoke out there! Like the deal for both sides - although Indy obviously has a lot of question marks still floating around.

Our PG was available and we could not close the deal.

Don't believe they can until the off season - he signed an extension in October.

Cuz Buddy was part of the deal.

Sabonis is a 25 year old all star making under 20M per year - it's not like Sac threw Haliburton away for nothing.

Even if Knicks were willing, not sure the same deal is available for Randle...

Haliburton and Duarte make a really solid PG/SG on offense and defense. I don't think this trade helps Sacramento as much. They still haven't added any defense.

I don't think Hield is in Indiana longterm. I would guess he a LeVert get moved further for other players.
