i don't know who Dallas would move in some 3-way deal so we could get commensurate value but one could dream they move KP to Sacramento and Sac sends us Fox

this deal just seems to make so much sense, it has to happen.

I think I want Kemba gone just as much (nothing against him as a person, but he is terrible for us)

If it weren't for the expectation that Kemba needs to play - he'd make a great Theo Pinson replacement!

fish, I want to hate because of last year, but that was freaking last year. I really want a PG like Fox, I want more Obi.. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep unless they pull the trigger at 12:01

Swap out Fox for Randle, and all of a sudden, we are a tremendous first and secondary fast break team. We have an instant identity and would have a team that can provide 48 mins worth of energy. I get the concern about the lack of consistent 3-ball shooting from Fox, but despite that, he still gets into the lane at will. He's 24 and fits the timeline of Obi, RJ, Mitch, Grimes, IQ, Cam etc...Fox can take some of the blame for the losing in Sac-Town, but he hasn't had consistent coaching or a stable front office since he's been there. Get this deal done.

Sold me on it! Get it done the clouds will lift and we'll see an exciting brand of basketball - as long as Thibs doesn't get in the way. With Randle it's pretty much unwatchable. If he's still here tomorrow then thank god for the Olympics.

Also, Thibs seems to favor bigger guards. Rose was massive, Fox does not have that ceiling.. but they are both 6'3" and were both fast as hell (at least earlier in Rose's career). I bring that up because I think Thibs would be a good coach for him

Which is a long way of saying I would be hyped for that lineup and would keep my interest in the team this year

I was one of them. I was also against trading him for someone like Simmons. Now, not so much.

It’s like the nba changed the emphasis on the rules and it favors youth hustle and team play. Teams need to adjust

I didn’t want Simmons but Lillard or McCollum or draft picks would have been nice

He’s had 1 good week the entire season, and other than a quick flash here and there, he is just going thru the motions out there. How did he ever average 20 ppg last season ? He’s somehow been less impactful than Elfrid.

This is some serious slander. Kemba had a guaranteed contract, he negotiated a buy out, and the Knicks paid him the difference. He had no financial incentive to sign here (or even play for two seasons, see John Wall.) This was just a dream come true for him and I'm sure he felt like he could get back to his All Star form. It sucks that it hasn't worked out, but hey that's life.

I think he's staying- back when he fell off a cliff, I hoped it was because we had a move lined up and he'd found out about it. All the insider info/bball writers this week have basically said there is no deal lined up, merely we're exploring/open to the idea, but say it's more likely he stays.

smackeddog @ 2/3/2022 4:33 AM
Thinking about it, I'm also no longer sure we have a move lined up to clear time for Cam- I assumed we would already have one ready to go, but I've just remembered we all assumed when we drafted Obi we were moving Randle, but we didn't. And we never have! So it's not beyond the front office to spend a pick on a player and then not actually have the room for them.

Nobody wants Randle’s contract. We might be able to stretch provision it and ultimately we might be forced to

SergioNYK @ 2/3/2022 11:22 AM
Randle's effort and energy the past 2 games has been a little better but mentally he's still not 100% engaged. What was up with him going into the Memphis huddle?
