2013-2019 Houston Rockets (Executive VP of basketball operations)
2019-2021 Minnesota Timberwolves (President of basketball operations)

Ownership has listened to a vocal contingent of staffers express concern about the way Rosas conducted his business, sources told The Athletic, and finally came to the conclusion that they could not wait any longer to address the situation... Rosas' reign was described as dysfunctional, with tension rippling through the front office, according to some sources.

In recent days, the organization discovered that Rosas, who is married, had a consensual intimate relationship with a member of the organization, The Athletic has learned from multiple sources. It made several people within the organization uncomfortable, sources said. While this was not the reason for Rosas' dismissal, it certainly impacted the timing.

I know ya'll are struggling right now, but I promise you, this hiring is better than any trade ya'll could've gotten. He had many "personal" issues in his time in Sota, but the dude does not sleep until every possible move is considered. And hes a draft/trade wizard. Once this guy moves into a higher role (which he will).. You guys are going to see really good returns. Be excited Knicks fans, this is big.

Layden came aboard with the Timberwolves in 2016, when the team also hired former coach Tom Thibodeau. Layden remained on the staff even after Gersson Rosas took over control of basketball operations following Thibodeau’s firing in January of 2019.

Last April, Layden’s role with the team seemed to be in jeopardy, but he was able to land another year as the team’s GM. Following Thibodeau’s firing, Layden took over control of basketball operations through the 2019 trade deadline. Rosas was hired by the Wolves in May and then took control of those duties.

Layden has held various front office and coaching positions in the NBA since 1981. He previously worked in the front offices of the Utah Jazz, New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs, serving as the Spurs’ assistant GM before joining the Wolves.

At first glance it seems “well, Layden was alway layden………But he did work in sAS for a while.
As we come to learn people like scott. As we come to learn rosas was an asshole and its possible Layden was all too happy to move on from that mess. He stayed on for almost two more years after thibs left and remember covid hit March of 2020. He left Minny in December of 2020. Layden has a family with health issues and might have just said “fuck it, not worth it to work with this asshole”.

Funny, Thibs was president and Layden GM. The Great Glenn Taylor was a hell of an owner!!!!!!

Why exactly would we need an additional Consultant with Brock, Perry and Wes already on board.

I guess judging from the crickets we are hearing at the trade deadline means somebody isn't doing their JOB

So basically… it seems like we hired an Isiah that is competent at making moves. Lets see where this rolls. Lol
