Last season thibs leaned on Randle even if he was the worst player on the floor. I think next year could be a bounce back year for Randle but i just want to increase his trade value and ship him out even if he is having an allstar year. You just never know what Randle will show up
You had it right to start. Coaching does not work like that. You don't "Half" minutes between a second year player that has yet to prove anything with a former All Star in his eight year and who is your best player.

I’m beginning to think that the Knicks don’t mind if Mitch leaves on a contract that is outsized for his value to Knicks (especially if the can get a trade exception) when they have a min player whose output may not be that different and may be long term better.

First off Sims looks huge. Isn’t he listed at 6’9? He looks 7’0 260.
Additionally, I agree about them being okay letting Mitch walk (as long as they get some compensation.)
Noel was their starter when they were at their best. Sims is the priority obviously, and they will always have Gibson when needed. They might as well just grab a 4th big in the second round for depth and keep the cap clean at the center position. The great teams prove year after year that you don’t need an elite center to contend. Sims can develop a couple of moves and develop that Dwight body and be the guy.

Reminds me more of Ben Wallace

At the combine he measured 6’9” without shoes, 6’10” with and 250lbs. Huge wingspan at 7’3” and second best vertical for class at 44.5”

Mitch is definitely a better shot-blocker, but I agree that Sims looks like he can give us alot of what Mitch brings. However, my concern is that the Knicks could have traded Mitch at the deadline and got a 1st round pick for him at least. They still may be able to do a sign and trade that nets them a second round pick or more, but they can't let Mitch walk for nothing. That would be a devastating missed opportunity.

Exactly
Sims is very much the player Robinson was when he first entered the league...if not better.
fans crying that we should have traded him at the deadline don't seem to realize that it would have been almost impossible for the Knicks to receive equal value in a straight up trade (contract worth and pending FA).
Much like Jeremy Lin a few years ago, Mitchell Robinson is holding all the cards and if he walks it would be because he wants to leave and not because the Knicks don't want him.

So let me get this straight; the Knicks don't mind if Mitch leaves, but if Mitch walks it's not because the Knicks DON'T want him. This logic is stunning.
Jeremy Lin flamed out in less than two months as a Knick, got exposed several times, and couldn't manage to play during the varsity season. For that he got offered 24 million. He left for the money, good for him and his. I read the books and bought the knee braces.
Mitch has spent most of three seasons on the floor during which he set an NBA record. In about 6-7 times as many games as Lin.
You need a better comparison.

The comparison is only in the "ASSumption" in that Robinson will be looking to get paid this Summer much like Lin before him. Thats it.
As for the first part, I don't know what's so hard to understand.
I'm sure the Knicks don't want to lose a player like Robinson, and are willing to sign him for the right price, but would be ok knowing that they have a player like Sims available.

Alright, I don't want a pissing match over a bad comparison, my only point about your "ASS-U-ME-sumption" was that Mitch is holding a hell of alot more cards than Lin ever was.
Sims is a nice card for the Knicks to hold, but he's not even quite near what Mitch was as a 20 year old rookie. Other than a few flashes and being one of the new shiny things, Sims isn't making anyone forget MitchRob's zombie defense yet. Not that he won't. Dude's an even worse foul shooter than Mitch, and that's saying something.

If Detroit offers him 4/$100mm its prolly ba-bye Mitch.Swishfm3 wrote:jrodmc wrote:Swishfm3 wrote:martin wrote:Clean wrote:Ever since we drafted him every time I see Sims I say damn he is huge. Agree, I do see some Wallace in Sims
