You had it right to start. Coaching does not work like that. You don't "Half" minutes between a second year player that has yet to prove anything with a former All Star in his eight year and who is your best player.

First off Sims looks huge. Isn’t he listed at 6’9? He looks 7’0 260.
Additionally, I agree about them being okay letting Mitch walk (as long as they get some compensation.)
Noel was their starter when they were at their best. Sims is the priority obviously, and they will always have Gibson when needed. They might as well just grab a 4th big in the second round for depth and keep the cap clean at the center position. The great teams prove year after year that you don’t need an elite center to contend. Sims can develop a couple of moves and develop that Dwight body and be the guy.

Mitch is definitely a better shot-blocker, but I agree that Sims looks like he can give us alot of what Mitch brings. However, my concern is that the Knicks could have traded Mitch at the deadline and got a 1st round pick for him at least. They still may be able to do a sign and trade that nets them a second round pick or more, but they can't let Mitch walk for nothing. That would be a devastating missed opportunity.

Alright, I don't want a pissing match over a bad comparison, my only point about your "ASS-U-ME-sumption" was that Mitch is holding a hell of alot more cards than Lin ever was.
Sims is a nice card for the Knicks to hold, but he's not even quite near what Mitch was as a 20 year old rookie. Other than a few flashes and being one of the new shiny things, Sims isn't making anyone forget MitchRob's zombie defense yet. Not that he won't. Dude's an even worse foul shooter than Mitch, and that's saying something.
