So ok lets attempt to summarize again

Over multiple deals here is what came out and came in

Out went no.11, Kemba, 2023 and 2024 knicks 2nd rounders and 2 additional 2023 2nd rounders that we had

In came:
Cap space
2023 protected Detroit no 1
2023 protected Washington no 1
2025 Milwaukee no 1

We trade the only one that seems likely to convey next year to Charlotte with our 2023 2nd (essentially a double draft 1st) and 2 other meaningful seconds.

All for 15mm of cap space that costs us our MLE and Biannual (15mm of exception space)?

This FO is retarded.

We still get MLE after signing a PG and resigning Mitch

No. You get the 4.9m room exception instead of the 9.7mm MLE. You should looks stuff up before posting. You are wrong a lot.

So what? I’d rather get Brunson or Tyus Jones instead of whatever scrub you think is so great that would cost $9.7

The winner of this year's draft is Jake Fischer. Stood pound for pound against Shams and Woj.

I take all these reports right now with a grain of salt, but am I reading we are trading a lottery pick to dump an expiring $9M contract?

Will give benefit of doubt that there's more to it, but holy hell if true...

Not exactly.

We traded the 11 for 3 future firsts

Then we traded one of thos future firsts and two future 2nds to get rid of Kemba for cap space.

So on net we ended up with 2 future firsts and cap space for 11, Kemba and some 2nds.

I think.

Yeah but those are like facts and stuff. The group think is that we should have drafted another mediocre wing at 11 instead of actually getting in a position to sign an actual pg plus acquiring picks in a better double draft

How do you know he'd be mediocre? we got great players the last few years with way lower picks. Who was the last successful Free agent we signed that made us better?

RSparrow2 @ 6/23/2022 11:11 PM
Do they have to keep rubbing in our terrible trades....why haven't analyist even commented about it and question the tactics..

$15 mil cap room plus two future first round picks in next years draft which is better than this years underwhelming draft

Except those picks are protected, we most likely won't get either next year.

We got fleeced, bigtime.

Why didn't the just stretch Kemba? 4 2nd round picks and a first are they fucking insane

Great players? Grimes looks decent. RJ has been good but he was a top 3 pick. IQ and Mitch were good I’ll agree with that

I guess I’m not as big a fan of this draft as most. Griffin is just a catch and shoot guy we have those. Would rather have the cap room

Good summary.

So, we gave up 11, 3 real 2nds and 1 highly conditioned (fake) 2nd.

If everything goes wrong and those conditional firsts don’t convey, we have the Bucks 2025 1st and 4 “real” 2nds.

So, we netted 9m of cap space and 1 second, with a chance to improve on that if Detroit or Washington makes the playoffs, while moving this pick to 2025 and hoping an unprotected Bucks are terrible in 2025…

Not sexy but they have a few options to do better.

How come you never answered my question? Yes, once TT actually played the young players they showed out ... beat teams or were extremely competitive with teams in the playoffs or playing for playoff position. You think Brunson @ likely $30M a year is good, he's a barely above average player with great players all around him ... on the Knicks he's average 12 pts a game and 3 assists a game..

Keep hoping.
The reality is going to be something like: Knicks trade the 11 pick for the 15th pick and next year's second round pick.

What pisses me off is that my cynical joke was not even cynical ENOUGH!

Philc1 @ 6/23/2022 11:30 PM
Pick 42 coming up…

Kennedy?

VDesai @ 6/23/2022 11:31 PM
Damn i wanted Kennedy Chandler
BRIGGS @ 6/23/2022 11:32 PM
We got good players at 42 possibly
I wanted Orlando Robinson but there are guys who have slipped

Dammit

Well this could open up Tyus Jones for us if we don’t sign Brunson

Nalod @ 6/23/2022 11:34 PM
Denied. Sorry. Ws hoping for you.
EwingsGlass @ 6/23/2022 11:36 PM
Does it make sense just to draft Makur Maker and stash him. Under contract in Australia, no?
