I think this one might have gone to far. This one is probably up there with the 14 second clock off of offensive rebounds.
So if player get stripped it’s a clear line to the basket for a dunk? I hope the stipulation for shooting applies for fouls at the basket. If not it means if a player is stripped they might as well not risk trying to block the dunk on the other end?
Also I expect more whistles at the perimeter now that defenses are rewarded for fouls off of strips. Also instead of the refs checking to see if there was a clear path violation they will need to take time outs to determine if the defender had possession of the ball before they were fouled.

Reading between the lines, seems likely some sort of possible deal is on the table from talks in Vegas (not with us) and the jazz are putting this out there to see if anyone else will top it (I.e. "knicks, this is your last chance"). I'd don't think we should go all out for him, I think he'll end up in miami or brooklyn as part of a complex KD trade personally, because of the heat connections in the jazz front office (wade and fiz). Maybe Simmons and picks and or Herro end up in utah
You are right
Likely:
Kd, Kylie to Miami
Bam to nets
Simmons to Utah, herro to Utah
Mitchell to nets
Lowry to nets
Jimmy and Kylie would be fun to behold. Durant still has at least two years in the tank.
They could win a chip there and nobody would care.
BUilding off of Mitchell and Bam is interesting. Some picks obviously get moved there to take Lowreys contract.
Me? Nets and Heat are in division rivals. I loath the Heat more than Nets going back to when Riley left and a great rivalry was born. Same for Boston but that goes back to the 1970’s.
Until Knicks start to play significant games rivalries don’t exist. Take off the jersey there is nothing about the team that plays there I object to. I respect them and their coach. Except look at the rafters and the pain they caused us. Then it gets more complicated.
Have the knicks and Nets ever competed for anything at the same time?

Bam and Donovan can’t be in same team either due to Designated Rookie extension.

Oof! I presume that takes the Suns out of the KD sweepstakes now? Unless they did a package around Mikal Bridges, in which case it leaves them very shallow. They’d be crazy not to work out a sign and trade for Miles Turner while they can salvage something. Man, their futures gone from having a core of Ayton, Bridges and Booker to carry on building around (huge blunder not drafting Haliburton) after age catches up to CP3, to just Booker and Bridges and Cam Johnson. It’s amazing how quickly things can fall apart and how badly some unforced errors can wreck you

Or the match it.............
The don't have to take back Turner.
My take is any deal with Ayton to BKN involving KD already came and went. But we have no idea who Ayton was talking to or Suns for that matter.
Teams not matching is such a rare event

I read the barriers to matching: Sarver not wanting to pay that kind of coin AND it’s become toxic between the coaches and Ayton AND the players and Ayton. plus the Pacers are likely to put all sorts of deterrents in there (trade kickers etc)

Sarver is not the only owner there and there are metrics to follow. Ayton is not worth 33mil. But Sarver likely about to get fried anyway given his lack of charactor.
That aside, Its not unreasonable to tell a guy to go get a market deal. Why bid against yourself. Toxic? Good point. We can guess all we want get the guess right but we'll know in 48 hours.
Ayton wants the money. Give up PHX winters for Indiana. Damn. He'll have Carlisle up his arse every day too.
33mil for Ayton. Damn. Inflation is a bitch!
Summer of fun…………
Watching first few episodes of the HBO show “winning time” about Jerry Buss buying the lakers. I read the issues about how Jerry WEst was treated and while I understand the depiction is perhaps out of line I’m still Ike “Holy shit, is any of this inline”?
They are brutal on him. The “Logo” I understand had some issues with the lakers over the years and can only think some of this has to be leaning to be somewhat true. That his psyche was so damaged even if one quarter true is incredible.
That they did not use NBA film to show the recreated historical scenes of him as a player.
There is a lot of liberties taken. Adrian Brody as Pat Riley does not get his age right. IM early in the show and I know riles had some issues when he retired (I read his books) but the depiction is weird.
I like the show though and its pace. The Tarktainian thing has elements of truth but they did stretch it from what I read on it. I don’t want to spoil it so I’ll leave it there.
The Red Auerbach thing is comical.
For an old hoop junkie its a funny look back and can’t imagine anyone being happy with how they are depicted. Good cast, fun pace, and kind of silly.
I hope Mitch adds more to his game, but this does make me feel better about his contract.

Really sucks for the Pacers, I feel so bad for them- could we maybe help them out by offering them Randle?
Should be interesting chemistry with the Suns- not only did they and the coaching staff have issues with Ayton from las season and the playoffs, but now he may have blown their shot at KD (unless they can use Bridges, Cam and picks)- CP3 must be furious. Could have spared themselves all this just by offering the max last season. Terrible tactics.
Wonder if we sign him to be backup PF (if we trade obi)

I started a thread on this. He is from TarryTown/Dobbs Ferry. That’s essentially the practice facility. Probably would be a welcome signing.

before Brunson I was high and hopeful his role would expand with us. I feel like he's still got some lumps to take but is going to be great player for us. If Brunson is a long time fixture I hope IQ is as well in the Bobby Jackson Jamal Crawford role.
I read somewhere that the Hornets never rescinded Miles Bridges QO. Anyone hear that from a reliable source?
