I don't believe a backcourt of Irving/Mitchell would work so the Nets will still have to move Irving, but maybe with Mitchell on hand, they can convince Durant to stick around. And if they can't, building around Mitchell is a great alternative.

Only thing is Utah’s fanbase is more intense than most western conference tiny markets with fans who barely show up to games. If Simmons continues his flakey crap in Utah those fans will barbecue him alive

I don't this changes much. He was not going to leave LA unless it was to play with his son for a years. He and his family loves living there too much.
