So they're 6 times I think can offer KD a package: Suns, Grizzlies, Raptors, Knicks, Pelicans, and Cavs
I want no part of KD at this point. Why give up any players we value when he could easily sign here and then demand to leave next season? I know as Knicks fans it's hard to have high self-esteem - but this is like being desperate enough to take back the ex that never was your ex in the first place...
Im thinking its Ben Simmons and no freakin way Durant is spending his next years with that guy as a robin

They will never ever ever deal any of their players to us, let alone KD

How does a Suns/Ayton trade go down with base year compensation rules?
Same as Brunson?
Kind of my point. More like, mechanically, how would the Nets do anything with Phoenix for Ayton? They need to send out 30 and receive 15mm. Do they have any trade exceptions?
I hope Kyrie ends up with the Lakers, makes the west more interesting and stops Lebron’s last seasons being a complete non-competitive waste

i'm in this camp.

It's different because Ayton would be extending on his rookie year deal as a first rounder. Jalen and Mitch are a second round picks.
That was wrong. 🤣Ayton is stuck as a base year too. I guess Nets wod have to unload Kyrie to create the space.
No interest in giving up everyone for KD. I’d give up Randle, one of the young players and first round picks. Giving up that and RJ and more young players is crazy. He’s older. He is getting more injuries. He’s soft as hell with the media. Ha.

No sympathy for the Nets here. After getting swept Kyrie came out and said he and KD wanted to partner with management in turning this thing around, likely code for trading Ben Simmons. I never saw anything like the first 76ers Nets game after the trade where KD single handedly took on the 76ers fans to show his support for his new teammate Ben.
Instead Sean Marks let the media lambaste Kyrie and whipped it out two days later to show that he's the guy running the show. KD (two finals MVPs) and Kyrie (biggest shot in NBA history) rightly balked at Marks (former asst. GM of the Spurs). Just rewards for Brooklyn.
In terms of "not honoring the contract", that argument loses a lot of steam because the CBA caps Durant's pay- half the league would be happy to pay him despite him publicly giving a list of two teams.
This was clearly what the Nets were hoping for to get out of the luxury tax after the sweep. Good luck with that.
Watching various “hot takes” on Durant - the brown nosing (I’m seeing) is pathetic. Yes a great great talent. Also a ring chasing phony who can go jump in the Gowanus Canal.
Oh, I wonder if any of the gasbags who clowned the Knicks for “failing” to sign KD and Kyrie and jumped on the Nets “bus” would own up to their foolish hate. Yeah right.

I think he could have won a lot more rings staying in Golden State. Greatest basketball player ever, just bad luck for KD.
Knicks are a lot cooler than the Nets right now
The league is turning into a joke, no wonder ratings are declining.
This is bad for business. Star players asking like spoiled brats, asking to be traded after signing to a team 2 years ago.

LOL, so predictable:
I rooted for the NY Nets in the ABA, along with the Knicks...The Barry and Erving teams were fun to watch.
I have a bit of sympathy for the franchise because of my teenage interest in them, but I never had a feeling they made the right choice by signing Kyrie Irving to go along with Durant, and was happy KI didn't come to us.
I think they should've built on the pre-Nash roster, which had some grit, something Kyrie didn't bring to the team all the time.

Liked the Buck Williams Nets as well. Never had a dislike for them and agree the pre-KD and Kyrie team was a good bunch especially considering the Nets were recovering from the Garnett/Pierce era. Selling their soul for Super Friend ring chasers hasn’t gone well for them.

I loved the Kendall Gill/Kerry Kittles/Jimmy Jackson/Eric Montross/Tony Mass(enburg) Nets. Fun team. Had like 5th row partial season tickets for like $50/seat, right by the visitor tunnel. Fist bumped Ike Austin. Saw them beat the Bulls. Pippen was pretty upset. I laughed.
While we're all disgusted by KD/Kyrie and having an F-you moment at the Nets, KD is still awesome at basketball and would be a difference maker on our team - of course at the right price. I feel like we're much more complete with Brunson.
