Knicks · evan Fournier----whats the plan? (page 4)

But there’s no one on the free agent market better than Fournier. They might as well see how things work with him this year. If it doesn’t work out they can move him next summer when he’s easier to move.

Mitch wasn't able to make up for the lack of defense from Randle/Fournier last season and RJ spent most the season working to hard guarding the opponents best player by himself. They do need someone who isn't just a D&3 at the wing, but if they could get a better defender around RJ and Randle the team can ask RJ and Randle to score more and they can hide Randle defensively better. Fournier is a liability they should try to move sooner than later.
Ain't it Funny ....
How owner Cuban seen how valuable Bullocks defensive-hustle performance were to both Randle & Barrett's over-all game performance?
The Knicks FO Leon/Perry .. did not watch any of the Knicks 2020-21 regular or post season games.
Because the Knicks FO were clueless of the Knicks three most valuable players throughout the COVID EMPTY Stadium season.
Hypothetically, if the entire Knicks roster became FA after the 1-4 playoff series vs Hawks .. The first 3 players that earned to be resigned, or given an extension were
1) D.Rose leadership ..
2) Randles MIP ..
3) Bullock's all around hustle on both sides of the court, another multi position hustler Tucker .. It's funny how Tucker moved from Miami to Philly this offseason !!!

The problem is we all saw bullock absolutely disappear in the playoffs and be a safety-net where Atlanta could hide Trae young defensively. I liked what bullock brought, but I feel like grimes can bring that plus so much more when he’s ready. Part of being a great team in the playoffs is taking advantage of mismatches and bullock just doesn’t do that. He’s an elite 3&D guy who can get exposed by the right team. Grimes is the answer if he develops.

How quickly people forget this fact. How do you have such a defensive liability as Trae is and can never take advantage of it during a playoff series. That is inexcusable.

That aTL had good team defense with Clint to slide over and our offense was not good enough to take advantage?
That IQ, RJ, and Obi were that much younger then? Rookie year stuff. Covid stuff. Vet team vs one younger.
That Drose was cooked, as was Elf. Frank offense was not there.
That matchups matter.
That we were not as good as our record or ATL evidently better than theirs in the short season.
Excuses vs. reasons. ATL under Nate Mac was playing very good ball by seasons end.

And that was a time when you couldn’t look at Trae without picking up a foul. Bullock had his hands full on defense.
We overreacted to that series and made terrible off-season moves as a result.

Can't even think about Bullock now that Grimes is on the roster. Bullock is a legit 3&D and I recognize his value. But I have a hard time believing he was the difference. We had a walking trainwreck power forward handling the ball too much on offense and our first wing off the became the point guard.

Biggest problem was Randle playing like Betsy Randle.
