The media seem to be universally pleading with us to pull this off no matter what the cost- bizarre! Even non-agenda folk like Windhorst- what’s going on?!

It's all about the clicks.

Windhorst non-agenda? He's clearly carrying Danny's water. Every report he gives seems to be from Utah's perspective.
off to the side a bit: but what we should want more than Donovan is Julius to return to 2020 season. His stats that season blew away Donovan's (shit the bed in the playoffs but...)
hoping the team is locked into sports- and whateverelse-psychology to get Julius back to form.
What’s fair value for Mitchell? Is he actually worth more than Gobert? In my book, maybe not!
Gobert had serious personal accolades: all D teams, DpOty, all-nba, all star games. He’s got elite size/length/athleticism for his position.
Mitchell is a bonafide 1st scoring option combo guard, high ft%, 3-time all-star. Mid-20s, ~25ppg scorer the last few years. Has never made an all-nba team. But what’s his position? He’s little bit of a size liability as a SG. He’s beefier than an Iverson, but you still ideally need a supersized PG alongside him. As coach you’d have to make some special considerations for him and make defensive switches.
Also, as a little guard, he may have a shorter prime - now might be his absolute peak - any loss of athleticism or explosion will have a big impact on his productivity. From a practical standpoint, he may not keep his value well over time.
So what’s fair then?
We have Randle who’s been all-NBA 2nd team. Why wouldn’t he by himself be considered a ballpark equivalent. Throw in some protected first rounders or maybe a young player on a cheap contract, done deal.
Or instead of Randle, a couple of young talents with upside. Two of Quickley/grimes/Obi/sims and a couple of protected 1st rounders. They might become stars or not, but they’ve shown enough that you’d be willing to give them a few years on their first contracts to prove themselves.

Nearly every report from everyone seems to be utah/ainge based, don't think I recall anything like it where the wall to wall coverage is 'its going to get done'- last time I saw such consensus was when they all said KD was signing with the knicks.
Hope Rose sticks to his guns and is prepared to say f it, personally I'd like to see who we could land with a similar/ more reasonable package (it would be satisfying if Presti under cut Ainge and did a similar package with us for SGA)- remember how we suddenly found out Deron Williams was actually available AFTER we'd traded for Melo.
Ridiculous full court press by the media, don't think I've ever seen anything like it, why don't they go pressure the Nets to do a Kyrie trade to the lakers
Just say NO to the Jazz and keep on stepping! Why?
Kemba instead of Payton ..
Fournier instead of Bullocks ..
Cam 2 yr contract instead of Knox one yr contract.
In Knicks previous season ....
Kemba Fournier Barrett Randle MitchRob were a .400 performing lineup.
D.Rose Quickley Burks Obi and Taj or Sims were a .550 performing lineup.
Plus, 2 season ago Brunson's top performance on the Mavs equal Grimes rookie performance, and I like McBride performance more than Grimes.

Exactly and why I like this FO. They don’t bend or jump to a shiny toy based on media or fan pressure. For once we have a competent FO. Donnie Walsh was also good at making competent decisions. But Rose is playing this exactly how he should. We hold the cards not Ainge…..especially now that the cat is out the bag and Donovan knows they actively trying to trade him. If I was him I wouldn’t play a single game in utah. Ainge will have to give in.
If we don’t get D.Mitchell that’s a win for us. NOW all nba teams know where to turn when trying to off load their star and rebuild. Knicks don’t need a 3rd party like Miami and others do. Be patient and wait until a deal is available that’s in our favor for once. #ILOVEIT

We need to start a McBride community. Since draft night I feel like I’ve been on an island rooting for him to make the team. Knick fans are trashing McBride like he’s a bum. Even if hes only a career bench player, and he’s not a pure PG(news flash pure points have all retired except for CP) he’s a winner that makes winning plays and he’s cheap. I don’t get the hate on bride. All I said was he’s one of many winning plays. We need unselfish winners who plays hard on every play on the bench READY TO EAT. Not in the Gleague. And I’m adding another player for the record. My man Hunt! I’m ready to start this youth movement with or without Randle.
Truth be said .. The Knicks got their replica of Donovan Mitchell when they drafted Quickley.
Plus, Frank was supposed to be develop at the SG position. Phil drafted Frank to put in the backcourt alongside D.Rose !!!

You can only report what youe sources feed you, at least in the NBA. You rarely get in-depth, investigative reports anymore. But, if you notice, Shams has been pretty close with his reports on this. Woj too. They seem to have eyes and ears in both camps. Historically, I don't ever remember Windy being close to the Knicks camp. Leon's regimes has always been seemingly leak proof. I know stories have been leaked from the Knicks camp, but they've always seemed to be strategic. That's good from a negotiating standpoint. But reporters still need to eat. If one side isn't effing with you, thenbyou got to deal with the one who will. Sure, it'll make things seem one-sided. But phuck, I don't care what the fans of these one-horse town franchises have to say anyway. Let those sheep 'lol Knicks'. I take it to mean Leon is running a tight ship, even if the coverage gets annoying.

This is not true at all. I am right there with you. From the beginning I wanted to draft him and been singing his praises as his game is all out winning. People think because I point out things he needs to work on I am talking bad about him. I just want him to improve his weaknesses so he can reach his potential. If he ever figures out how to reliably breakdown the defense he jumps up to one of our best prospects.
The Hawks have acquired Dejounte Murray from the San Antonio Spurs for Charlotte’s 2023 first round pick, unprotected first round picks in 2025 and 2027, Danilo Gallinari, and a pick swap, according to Adrian Wojna
I feel like this should be the broad outline for the trade. Murray and Mitchell are much more similar players and Knicks own picks are slightly more valuable than Atlanta's.

Notice how they did not get picks, swaps and young talent. Give them picks and swaps but the only young talent they get is cam. We need the young talent we have to fill the roster out.

Exactly they can do the trade but they can’t spend everything. Other stars will become available because they always become available.

Rookie McBride's development to advance his offensive moves in NBA ball should've been throughout the Knicks midseason games as a replacement for Kemba in Thibs dog-house, or a replacement for injury D.Rose bench lineup.
I would have been happy in the offseason if the Knicks FO would've put all their energy into hiring head coach Snyder. Rather than talk to Ainge.
McBride, Grimes, Sims, Toppin, and Quickley are future winners for the Knicks organization, and the only reason why Leon/Perry still have a job for the Knicks. Because Thibs no strategic offense and under development program for young players will get them fired soon.
And Randle & Barrett poor leadership towards teammates, especially the young players have been no help to the Knicks success by both players having an individual attitude and performance each game (No chemistry).
