Ah, multiverse Randle. We really need contract year Randle back. This team with the all star version is in the playoffs. If Diva Randle shows up this year he’s got to go

Game is a bit easier with no fans in the stands looking over your shoulder.

Was more than that, Randle worked his butt off in the offseason, came back in the best shape of his career.
That played more of a role in his ability to push the tempo, than anything else. He was clearly not in the same shape the next season. Which is why he spent a lot of time walking the ball upcourt last season.
If Randle comes back in better shape, Thibs doesnt give Randle league leading minutes again. We should be OK

Multiverse Randle, I like that, lol.

If he passes more and eliminates the 18 foot fadeaway from his repertoire, he’s an all star. Eliminating that fadeaway forces him to work harder to get his points, but he’s built like a brawler. Angry Randle on the low block that passes just a bit better and brings the 3pt up a few more points replaces Dray Green in all conversations. He should be angry that Wiggins took his all star nod. I’d be angry.

Asking Randle to eliminate the fadeaway is like asking Pee Wee Herman to eliminate the suit and the bowtie

I too, don't believe D.Mitchell and Randle will fit well in a lineup.
Every time Randle grab a defensive rebound he dribble (walk) the ball down court. Why?
Randle's passing skills the past 3 seasons lead to 4 to 6 turnovers.
Plus, Brunson & D.Mitchell will never be able to push the ball when Randle rebounds.
Brunson and Randle can probably coexist. No way D-Mitch, Brunson and Randle all 3 can coexist. Too many primary ball handlers on the court together
I hope enjoys getting fleeced at the deadline next February
I think this is a false narrative that somehow Mitchell, Brunson and Randle can't thrive together. I am confident in Thibs ability to coach. I would agree that Randle's mindset last season was bad, and if that continues, he will need to be traded. I think Brunson worked wonderfully off the ball with Luka, Mitchell is dynamic enough to find space off cuts and picks. And Randle, yes, is more of a round hole in a square one! But, he is a big beefy dude that can bully the way to the basket, and that is something teams need in the play offs.
I would personally be stoked to see the three of them, with RJ - who you leave out as needing the ball in his hands- with Robinson.
Well we can all relax. We aren’t getting Mitchell and Randle isn’t going anywhere next 2-3 years
Further indication D-Mitch trade ain’t happening any time soon:

Macri out here reckless speculating… all the crazy stuff that has happened this year. The Knicks trading pick #11, signing Brunson and IHart, keeping Mitch… and the hottest Knicks story is are the Knicks signing the friends of Donovan Mitchell because we would want to make him happy after the Knicks hypothetically trade for him…
It’s just not a healthy fandom
Great news! Ainge does not like that we are not as dumb as the wolves. I am excited to see how the current team plays with an actual PG.

I think if this trade happens at all it will be right before training camp. I can also see Ainge holding onto Spider into the season and try again at the trade deadline. But regardless I hope we stand our ground and not get bullied and pressured into a trade.

Yeah I think Mitchell is moved before the season. It really seems like Ainge is engaging teams looking for a trade.

Didn’t someone post that the picks the Jazz traded away are top 10 protected? The Wolves pick are going to be 20’s range. They need to blow it up

Being in top shape definitely helps. BUT, imo, comes down to 3pt shooting. Think for many players like Randle, if you can shoot close to 40% from three, you are an All Star.
Feel the only difference from last year was that he was not as good from three. We of course notice the turnovers and issues with fans more.

Agree with this but this could be said of EVERy NBA player. Guys are so good at certain things but often take bad shots because they feel they can make every shot. That type of confidence is what makes them NBA players. Do agree that Randle is best bullying his opponent. And running the floor instead of running the break. As we saw from Fiz to Thibs, it's about the game plan and how much Thibs dictates what he needs from him.

Can't see why they would hold on to DM till mid season. Also think that DM has been a good soldier through this because he has been promised he will be traded to a team of his choosing prior to the start of the season.
Definitely glad we have been patient. Still think 5 picks, Rose, Cam, Obi, Deuce is a fair price and pretty big haul for them. Anything more seems too high a price. Would even say we should keep Obi off and add Roka and Keels. All guys who won't see much of the floor anytime soon. They would also be able to flip Rose and Cam for more picks. If not, then we should be the ones to wait and see what things are till the All Star break. We shall see.
Wolves picks given are not all that great and the notion that Ainge ripped them off is way unknown. For at team that in hits history only advanced once in the playoffs and could not be a top 4 in its conference could be quite the deal for them!
They got a really good piece is Gorbert. Similarly, if we did that with MRob signed its worthless to us to have that duplication.
Media can harp all about the price paid but IF Minny goes deep its a very good trade for them. They are young and have pieces to work with. I’d almost expect them to trade DRussell to complete the roster and might get some picks back. Nothing in one trade but piece by piece.

Hard disagree here. In the middle of last season a clip of Randle from his All NBA season went viral on Knicks twitter. The clip was him sprinting back to get on D after making a FT because I think AD was cherry picking. It went viral for just how much of a contrast it was to the current season at the time. Randle's effort level was trash. I think the reason why he lost a ton of weight this offseason is to help increase his effort level next year.

Pointing out times where a player lacks hustle or effort does not explain why a guy did not make an All Star team. Many guys that put out 100% on every play still fall out of the league cuz they can't shoot a lick. Would agree that those moments with lack luster effort should never take place and are a measure of how a player is judged but the reason Randle did not have the same year was because of the drop in his 3pt shooting. Hoping his 3pt shot improves this year. If so, no one will be talking about the few times he lacked effort. Also hope Thibs will lessen his nightly minutes and make him accountable for those lack of effort moments. Do feel winning will help the effort level. As well as his demeanor. Which I feel will happen with a better PG.
Surprised that Randle's conditioning and league leading minutes would be dismissed as a factor in his performance so easily. You're right, the effort level wasnt the same. The game is easier when you're in peak condition.
