This should be a short thread. They have zero media access

A few days ago Leon Rose said Thibs will treat everyone with a clean slate.1st day of training camp Thibs was interviewing and he already declared Fournier as the top candidate for the starting SG spot. Was there tampering? 😜

Is it me or did the Knicks add player development people this year. Seems like a larger coaching staff.
Othella’s back!

Othella had a nice hook and battled on the glass even though he was undersized. Good bench player.

Covid changed the paradigm of reporting and the economics of the “beat reporter”. With newspapers dying and players more guarded then ever of their “brand” getting scoops is a different game. Media don’t ride on the planes anymore? Back in the day they flew commercial with the players. Airport down time and practices were time for getting to know players. Is it all lost? Well, not really. Social media allows the player to control their output. They can be assholes or portray a pure image. Or no image. Many players guarded themselves then and now. The big names are even bigger in college as the hype machines is massive. Gone are weekly sports magazines like Sports Illustrated. Now we got a slew of reporters like Woj, Shelborne, and Windhorst amung dozens of others. All games are televised now and if your out of market you can still see them. Back in the day only away games were televised in NY market. If you moved away you only saw national games. Cable gave us TBS, TNT and ESPN and then league pass gave us full access!
Remember, for the home games if not there you read about it in the papers the next day. Usually a story about the game, and some backgound story. On off days were common times for reporters to print the rumors or behind the scenes stuff. Players who struggled or had injuries and the background of them. Still happens but in different avenues.
Do we need media day coverage when we can actually get video of the darn thing? Bloggers can report it. I saw the 90min thing that was done. Im not going to watch it. Just not enough time but I saw some pieces. They all say the same thing year after year. “Feel great, best I have ever”….or “rehabbed and will need time to come back but happy to be here” etc etc. All good.
Zion is back and looking good. Harden “lost 10O lbs”, lol, good stuff. Derrick as skinny as ever, should be great. We hope. Still over 30 but its his best chance and no doubt might want another contract from some one. Im sure Thibs is genuine with him. Good stuff and good relationship there.

Mitch got some new guns! 3 Dukies in camp. 2 UK WildCats, And the back court of the NCAA champ Villanova! We for sure have more blue chip players in the house since Leon came on.

Othella Noshareington. As an assistant coach. If it's to coach our bigs then I like it. He battled hard and had a complete offensive repertoire. Maybe not super efficient, but still. That hook shot could do wonders for Mitchell Robinson
