I'd like to see Grimes expand his game. He needs to create his own sho, improve his passing and get to the foul line more. I look at him as just a 3 and d player - a specialist that you bring in off the bench. I think he has the talent to start, but he needs to work on parts of his game that hardly exist.
I'd like to see Grimes stay healthy. What kind of nonsense is this hurt foot.

Grimes getting hurt has put a damper on his chances of starting. At this point, Thibbs is going to start Fournier for sure to see how the first 10 games or so goes and then reevaluate.

Yea, unless Grimes comes back and absolutely kills it in the games I think his chances of starting are slim to none. Thibs will still catch hell when he announces EF as the starter but it would not be his fault at all.
Can Cam give a good showing with whatever minutes given to him tomorrow?

The stars have aligned to give Cam an opportunity to carve out some minutes at SG/SF/PF.
With his dislocated knee cap last season and now the sore foot I am concerned about Grimes' durability. Of all the abilities the best one is availability.

Hopefully this is just a ticky tack injury and not a sign of long term issues.
Part of being a solid pro is being healthy. injuries is part of the gig and staying on the court makes all the difference to earnging a contract or becoming a journeyman. Look at Justice Winslow. Talented big kid but just could not put it together.
plenty of season for him to get it right. He earned respect and a path to opportunity. EF at 30 is a solid pro who has a solid history on the court. Grimes has plenty of season to continue his quest. He has to take that job from Grimes by earning it! He'll get there. Not a knick fan in the house that does not want any player to NOT supersede the guy ahead of him. Its progress!
Fournier is going to be better this year. He’s an excellent shooter and Grimes will still get plenty of minutes anyway
