And Celtics got blown out by okc without SGA.

Here’s some interesting things I’ve noticed. Okc is 3-1 this year without SGA. This is the guy most feel is worth the package we considered for Mitchell. Okc (small size I know) has been better without him and many okc fans feel like he stalls the offense.

Also, Siakam is having a career year, OG Anunoby has become a player many here are obsessed with due to the skill profile, and Toronto also has allstar FVV and Barnes who they refuse to deal for KD, yet they don’t have a good record.

Knicks fans are programmed to believe the grass is always greener, but I really think outside of the Doncic, Jokic, Embiid, Steph, KD level players, you won’t find anyone to trade for that is a guarantee to raise the ceiling beyond what is currently is. Just my take.

I won't say Toronto flubbed the Barnes pick, but I don't how "special" a player he'll end up being. Right now he's looking like Ben Simmons with a better jumpshot. Not saying that Barnes is good shooter, just better than Simmons. Maybe they should've considered that KD trade...

Barnes value peaked last summer. It’s still high I’m sure but won’t get any higher. He has declined this year so far.

Maybe a team like the Nets or Lakers could grab him for the playoffs, shoot him full of cortisone and what have you, and get one 30 point game out of him.
Chandler @ 1/6/2023 2:19 PM
could see Kemba in Charlotte and DSJ getting waived

Separately Krejci in Atlanta is worth watching. Has a nice stroke

I don't love big guys in the dunk contest - the real question is Obi defending the title coming off injury?

I'd prefer it if he just rested. Maybe he can coach Sims if he enters

If Obi can’t avoid getting injured during a slam dunk contest oh my God

He has nothing left to prove. How about he keeps working on that three pointer?

The whole all star weekend is antiquated. It was fun way back in the day as TV was limited and you got to see players you normally could not.
Guys we read about on the west coast like Connie Hawkins and Spencer Haywood in seattle were legends and only came thru once a year. Home games were not televised. West coast games were on super late. To see them vs the East coast guys was special.
Im sure its special for young guys making the team. In the era of AAU and the fraternity of friendships these guys all know each other so rubbing elbows with other allstars is not that big a deal. (Says the man who never played in the NBA).

All-Star Game and weekend is for the younger fan. I used to love it as a kid. As an adult, I could care less.

Calipari on the hot seat. he forget how to coach? Doubt it.
NCAA has great parity now. One and dones are not automatic winner rosters anymore.
Fans spoiled.

Kenny Payne having deep pain in Louisville sitting in the basement of the ACC! This is what happens when you have to clean up a program.

Ewing? His days are numbered in Gtown. Very numbered. Times change. Recruiting is not easy and the key to success.

Woodson? 1-3 in the big ten? He also forget how to coach? Doubt it.

These are storied schools. North Carolina started no. 1 and are not ranked currently. Duke is at 17 with new coach.

No real interesting teams or stories coming from NCAA div. 1 hoops. Yet.
When do the Calipari-Leon Rose thing start up again? Rumored Texas wants to hire Cal. Kentucky fans want Cal gone but who comes in that makes it improved? I mean, how hard is it to just freaking win games??????

NIL money and more opportunities for prospects in the G-League and other leagues have warped Cal's one and done model. Now it's probably more advantageous to seek out the 3 and 4 star guys who will be developer over a few seasons. But how many coaches get that much job security to build the programs up at the top programs?

Glad that's been resolved. Sorry that Noel loses more money, but at least Leon took care of him.

Obi is the best dunker in the nba. Not letting him participate is like telling Steven Spielberg don’t direct anymore movies
