That was a dope.

Stay believe he was cheated out of ROY and that 2009 Denver team was one of the best ever.

I actually like Wemby going to the spurs. It’s good for the nba and sports in general. It’s a large market and an organization that clearly knows how to develop bigs plus he’s not in the East. That said pretty much everyone who acknowledges the fact that the draft lottery is rigged has been calling this for about a year now. Wemby was going to either the spurs or houston

Clearly you don’t learn as you go along.
San Antonio is large city, but not a large market.
Everyone who said its rigged does not validate the outcome. There are flat earthers. Qnon followers, Trumpers, etc. They ignore facts to further their agenda or validate a belief.
Then bend the narrative to say “See, told you”.

Fact is SAS, like others had the same odds.
Remember when David Robinson got hurt and Celtics shamfully tanked for Duncan when Patino was coach and president?
Why did Spurs get? this was before the SAS run of greatness?
I’d think league would have wanted him in bigger market. Shaq to orlando. Hardaway to orlando, etc……
Where is the narrative?
Anthony Bennet to Cleveland with no. 1 pick?
There are plenty of years where the pick fizzled.
YOu get hindisight to connect the dots.

So arguing a draft lottery that is never aired on tv (except in 1985 when the Knicks envelope was clearly folded and tampered with on live tv) and coincidentally has outcomes we can predict based on business every year is tantamount to believing the earth is not spherical but flat with gigantic waterfalls on the edges guarded by the Globalist Coast Guard. Got it.

Wait, was the envelope folded or frozen? I am getting confused now.

And why did the league want a strong team in Manhattan back in the 1980s, but not in the following three decades? Because NYC has become too "progressive"? A grand right-wing conspiracy?

Your words, not mine.

YOu draw the conclusions and no evidence to back it. Just like the flat earthers.

LeBum on the Knicks would definitely make me not want to watch this team anymore. I absolutely hate his guts and can never root for him!

And this latest bs about him retiring is such crap! It's been known for years this diva wants to play with his son so he's not going to retire until then. This is all about him being selfish and drama hungry trying to steal the thunder from Jokic and Denver sweeping his ass.

Haha, don't take it to heart too much. It's just his bat signal to GM/Ownership to move AD for better players around him or go after Kyrie or whatnot. Just some leverage going on.

Chandler @ 5/23/2023 10:58 AM

^^ i think Martin is right, and i think media is trying to make a story out of his "I don't know" responses. Frankly, it's one of the smartest things he's said in recent memory regarding his career. He might need to come to terms with the idea that at present he is merely exceptionally good and not the King anymore. Tough adjustment for super-alphas but they all decline. It's tough for them to want to play when they're not the center of attention -- they get addicted to that it seems, more so than winning.

I have very mixed feelings about him. If he wanted my advice, it would be continue to play if you still love the game (more than the celebrity) and find a situation where he would be happy with a leading role but maybe not the top spot. Unfortunately, as I type this it points to rejoining Miami or perhaps Cleveland on some reduced contract to make another push for a title

This is just Lebrons way to keeping his name out there even though he was sent home. It is also a way to keep the pressure on the Lakers to make good offseason moves. One of his main goals was to play with his son. He is one year from making that a reality. Why would he quit now?
Nalod @ 5/23/2023 12:53 PM
The guy hung 40 pts and gave it all.
he feels like shit.
Not a damn thing wrong saying he has to think about and see if he still has what it takes to get ready for another season. This was post game presser right?
We pretending that Lakers don't know what needs to be done?
They went to final 4. Not like they failed. Credit to that team for turning it around. Hate or not, the guy brings it.

He could also take a year off

Kyrie going to the Lakers in T-minus 5,4,3,2

And play minor league baseball.

I saw steve nash was interviewed by Toronto. If they are headed towards a rebuild I can definitely see it. I wonder if they would move Siakam to Portland for Simons and #3 and draft him a PG to develop in Scoot, then move OG to the Knicks for his godson RJ. Henderson, Simons, Barrett, Barnes, Poeltl starting 5.

Nash looked clueless with the nets. I get he’s a hero in Canada but I wouldn’t hire him especially on a rebuild

Can he pitch? Yankees could use him in the rotation

Nash really didn't do anything to show he is a NBA level head coach. I know he was set up to fail trying to coach those two divas but still. I also don't like hiring a guy without any assistant or college coaching experience. If I were Toronto, I'd make this hire based on what direction they want to go. Do they want to continue with Siakim and FVV? Are they looking to tear it down and rebuild?

For a tear it down situation, I'd always like Atkinson. He seems like a builder and developer. For a win now, it's clearly Budenholzer.

Interesting concept.
The fact they moved from Nurse and Massai did not make any quick deals at deadline makes me think they are thinking its more about what a new coach can do with their core and move from their. siakim for the 3 and Simons is interesting. As for RJ, thats for Ujiri to decide. OG to me is not enough of an upgrade and have to consider OG extension is coming up next year. I know RJ calls Canada home and thats a good marketing thing for both him and the team as well as Nash.

Nalod @ 5/24/2023 10:01 AM
Nash looked clueless but that was an impossible situation. Its also the great learning experience so its not about what he has been, its what can he be better at. Obviously he has to qualify and shine via the interview process and earn the respect of his GM, president and then his players.
He got the nets gig premature but he also did some things very well. Team came within a toe of beating Milwaukee.
Reminds me a bit when Phil hired Kerr to come here and rebuild. Who knows how well he’d do if he was healthy and had a few years to find his voice with a young team.
Nash has experience, the drive, the intellect, and respect of his organization and the players. If all true, and given time he could grow into a very good coach and be successful. Many coaches do improve/change over time.
Many great coaches who have had success previously fail in new situations. Knicks have had a few excellent examples with Wilkens, Chaney, and Larry Brown.

Ujiri also has to make sure OG doesn’t Brunson him.

OG was all defensive second team who is also a floor spacer. How is that not enough of an upgrade?
