Bad dad part 5: The shoes. The Dad Ball pushed the shoe and tried to change the landscape. It will be a movie one day.
The Karma of what Lavar tried to do with BBB the very thing that grounds Lonzo? The money came, but the kid is injured. Its a classic tragic story. The dad went to far and tried to monetize his son. Lonzo put in the work. Got to the NBA and earned that contract thru blood, sweat and tears. Not to say Lavar was evil. He just went to far. Stage dad syndrome.

That Lamelo is as good as he his given his path seems unlikely. His play lived up to the hype thus far.

Dodged a bullet? I don’t recall any rumors, just some chatter among fans thinking he’d be a good player here. He signed pretty darn quick with the Bulls. Didn’t they get a bit dinged for tampering?

Starbury kicks were god awful. I ordered a pair. Why? Curious at that price. The style was subjective so I won’t comment but the support level and cushion was awful. I can only imagine wearing them with an insert. I used them to powerwash my deck and driveway. The man made uppers kept my feet dry. Did Starburys contribute to Marbles fast demise in the aftermath of its release?

Hey maybe we can trade Randle for Lonzo!

Did you get a chance to do a side by side of the BBB's v Starburys?

Myers likely got miffed when he Connelly got an equity piece of the Wolves to be president and felt like he wanted some.
Under myers they won, build a new building and the team value has risen to incredible heights.

"Its time" might be:

"its time I get an equity stake and there are expansion/partial ownership opportunities or teams have expressed interest in valuing him more than his current employer does.

Fact is they had a hell of a run but the end is coming and while they tried to do a seemless rebuild, I think that is not more difficult in the newer CBA/rules that promote parity.

Chandler @ 5/30/2023 2:09 PM
mixed feelings about Myers. He inherited Curry and the core guys (unless you put KD's bandwagon jump as core)

His recent draft history is questionable.

My suspicion is that the challenges they face now are immense and he stopped having fun.

Maybe some team gives him a piece of the pie, but as the Hawks demonstrated it's difficult to replicate what the Warrior do/did when successful

They are going to have to make some hard choices because that new CBA is going to break them up.

#2 pick and #7 pick and $14 pick and all have been underwhelming to different degrees.

Green decision. Thompson decision after that.

2nd Apron after luxury tax.

Gonna be hell to navigate.

If i were in cynical mode, his greatest accomplishments were:

1) getting Kerr to break the verbal commitment he had with Phil (i think that was on his watch as GM)
2) getting KD to be a total douchebag to OKC by walking with no comp
3) getting KD to get compensation to GSW

Clean @ 5/30/2023 11:07 PM

Look how easy he does this being his height. If he stays healthy he is going to be a monster. Just needs to be able to handle people being physical and the amount of games in the nba.

No. I moved and don’t have a deck to powerwash. BBB kicks were not $15 either. I was not expecting much from the Starbury’s at that price. It was a curious purchase and figured I can do chores in them.

Chores are OK, just no tennis in the BBB's after you sign that new contract

D’lo as place holder and GSW restored him a bit. Then using him to get Wiggins and 1st round from Minny was pretty freaking good. I think the pick was Kuminga? Jury still out but Wiggins alone was worth it. They got a chip and took a swing at a prospect. I’d say thats pretty good. Wiseman not so.
Poole? Actually good pick and he might be better on another team.
Not that he got KD, but the culture that attracted him.
The man has 4 chips. Can’t really find much to beat him down with.
He wants equity or a long term deal as the price to get those chips are coming due. Team is aging, has big contracts and we don’t know what the bosses are asking him to do.

D.lo is part of number 3. And "he" got four chips will need some explaining. it was either totally (in some cases) or in large part (in others) due ot the team he inherited. His contribution was getting Kerr to renege on a deal and having KD be a bitch -- something KD's reputation never recovered fully from. (e.g., i have a friend who is a huge OKC fan and KD is to OKC what Pat the Rat is to Knicks fans)
