And Brunson.
Finally .. Obi Toppin playing going down the stretch of a game to help the Knicks go on a 9-2 run to cut 76ers lead to 2 pts.
Obi scored 8 points in the final 4 minutes of the game, and Cam 2-Way performance gave us decent lead to hold in the final 2 min to get a Friday night Knicks 106-104 WIN over the 76ers

It has its flaws and it wont work vs every team but you keep it in your pocket to use at the right time. 90% of my problem with Thibs is him not trying everything at his disposal to see what works any given game. He did that tonight and was rewarded with a win. we still suck but we got the win.

Obi stans eating good. Shout out to Thibs for trying new stuff until he found something that worked.
Obi & Cam dynamic 2-Way performance in the 4th quarter made Randle's performance look good over Harrell ..
The Knicks need to learn how to move the ball around, and players need to start moving without the ball instead of clearing out for a one pass ISO scoring play.

Ssh-Ssh .. The Knicks are TANKING .... D.Rose leadership receiving 7 minutes in a game D.Rose could've controlled the 2nd half of the game.
Quinn Snyder is still out there
Game was ugly till thibs paired obi and Randle in the front court…. Ugly or not thibs can’t hide the fact that when he paired obi with Randle our team took over the game… more obi … more obi and Randle

it was ugly because it was a grind and we were up at the half. Despite all the bad turn overs, bricks- we hung tight and were up nicely. 2nd half things went a lot harder that we gave up that lead big.
This game is so nice, I'm watching it twice1
how about that pass Obi made to iHart- in the 2nd- the ball got knocked out of bounds, we retained possession. Obi is become an all around NBA basketball player.

And honestly, Grime's stats weren't so great here.
You love Fournier? Really? Great defense, passing?

Mitch hurt again, early in the season. Would'nt mind seeing a Rolo for Simms trade. He's older but can still give a team productive minutes off the bench. He also sets picks better than anyone on the team right now.
Not so sure starting Grimes right after coming off an injury. Having to defend starters right off the bat, was a good idea. Would have waited to sit Fournier, would have pulled him sooner in the first quarter, before benching him this early.
When Brunson isnt hitting his shots, and not playmaking, he's an average PG. Dont expect him to turn into a pass first PG. A pass a little more PG would be nice. Like Ramtour said in another thread, drive and kick.
Who knows what , or if Simms becomes something but trades like that destroy any possible future for a team.
I don't know if this will last, but after all the crap Obi has taken over the years about his shooting that he has somehow became our best shooter. He needs to play 20 minutes a night at least. Take minutes for Randle. This team needs shooting and right now Obi is the only one that can provide it.

Or Maxey could have cooked him alive on switches. You know, one way or another
Just went back over the last 6 minutes of the 4th and what jumped out to me that was not mentioned in this thread was Obi on defense. 2 times Tyrese beat his man off the hesi dribble and Obi rotated and contested without fouling. Did he get the block? No but he made Maxey take a tough shot without fouling and Maxey missed both times. This is what I been wanting Mitch and Hart to understand. Always going for the block is bad. You get out of position for the rebound(which is why we suck on the glass) and you end up fouling which turns a hard shot into two easy free throws. I learned this as a kid but NBA players still have to learn it.

28 per game at least. I know with more minutes he might get e posed,

He tries. There is effort and leadership and shooting.
I'm allowed to love a deficient player. But I would like to see the rotation tighten, but without him!
Briggs has it right: go big.
BRUNSON
CAM
RJ
OBI
RANDLE
Thibs feeling that pressure. I missed the 1st half but I saw the 2nd half.
starting Grimes when he clearly wasn’t ready? I thought IQ was a better choice or stay with EF.
And then closing with Obi and Randle together, which I liked how that looked against bench players. How will it look against nba starters like the bucks.
These moves tells me he’s reaching for straws to find a win. Coaching for his job basically and found lightning in a bottle towards the end. But now that he started grimes yesterday…………………
1. What will Thibs do today?
2. What should he do today?
I honestly think Thibs put himself and the team in a tricky spot. EF is a high price well liked player who’s now off the bench. Was that permanent? Or just one game?
What does that do to IQs moral? Who I think should have been the obvious choice to start with Rose now getting more mins as the only lead guard off the bench with EF and cam.
Or What I would really like to see is Cam in the starting lineup due to his length and quickness laterally. That’s needed and he’s perfect next to Brunson whos defensely challenged. At least that’s my lineup against teams like Atl and Cavs. Teams with two dynamic pt guards in their starting lineup. Or really the best lineup I would pick and play against all teams.
Bench will have Obi, IQ, Grimes, Rose, Fournier, Hart
We are a deep team and full of picks. Riped for a trade!

When your coaching for your life, the best usually comes out.

How do you know he’s coaching for his life? Has there been an article? Did someone say that to you?
