OK, that was awesome.

Hows the anti-Thibs crowd after games like this? Fournier gets benched and he's dishing to the kids like dad on the playground. We got smoked and booed vs. the Celtics and rather than play tight the team is playing with hustle, joy and and enthusiasm. We play a lot of guys and 60% of the nightly rotation is guys 24 or younger. It's a work in progress. I do think we are gearing up for a big trade at some point, but in the meantime I like what we are doing with what we have. 5-5 is OK... like a C+ but there's plenty to like.

24 does anyone else view Hart as a legit prospect? He's really got all the tools... just needs to get a bit better at some things and he's a real great piece. What a find.

Nice to see the guys bounce back. I love when RJ outplays Edwards. I think of Kemet every time RJ scores and flexes

Let me take that! And own that! Great game and although the Timberwolves are either bad or in a bit of disarray like we were/are- definitely nice to see the guys actually execute on the offensive end.

My point with Thibs is if we are bad defensively because guys are bad naturally, something has to change to either get them playing better D or better O.

And this is a game that we should have won- and we did, though were we lucky with some lights out shooting from Randle who was overdue?

Or is this the start of Thibs getting through to guys like Randle (have fun, how Friggin great to hear that, it's game, enjoy it) and getting a better grip on rotations - because I was very happy to see Obi at 28 minutes - like wow! Like I've been saying that is what he should be at.

So, yea, let him coach the rest of the season! I approve

Cam’s size/length/quickness give him good overall potential. If he continues to gain confidence what do we see as his realistic upside? Kuzma/Barnes/Marvin Williams? It remains to be seen how his contract plays out next year and whether he’s with the Knicks, but that’s a question for another day.

Center/IHart:
I think starting Sims (plays more like Mitch) and letting Hartenstein play his normal role was a good idea. Hart’s addition feels like we got an NBA ready 1st round pick with upside. He brings more to the table across the board than Mitch. Mitch can dominate in an open game, but he can also be shut out on offense. Hart can contribute in a lot of different ways. (Not the first time I said this)

Randle:
Not really sure what to think here. He scored a lot and provided important outside pressure. He had a really hot shooting night from 3. I think he was 1/2 from inside the arc. It’s a bit of an outlier of a night, but isn’t really something you can count on.

Defensive adjustments:
I can’t tell if the Twolves were just cold/bad shooters in general/good defense. But it was nice that we shut down their 3pt scoring and we’re victimizing them instead of the other way around.

RJ:
Hoping he’s done with his early season woes. He still misses more layups than ideal (he takes a lot of contested drives, but it always seems as if one or two of the easier ones bounce out - shades of Greg Anthony.

I can live with the weird drives to the basket with consistent and purposeful defense and excellent 3 point shots.

are his drives to the hoop really worse than RJs? Meaning, Cam does make some of those with his height- he just needs to get a little more coordinated.

"Weird" meaning he rarely just extends to the basket on layups. Instead, he drops his releases to weird angles after rotating ball position several times.
He is getting playing time due to his defense. His offense has been good but mostly because of lowered expectations.

Honestly tho we play 10 guys, 60% of the rotation is 24 or under and we play hard. We are still in a position for a big trade but if that doesnt happen I like our approach to building from within as well.

5-5 sucks when its a win now squad of vets, and we surely have some but the meat of the roster is young guys working to get better and 5-5 isnt so bad there

Yes, thanks

Don't bully us with that infectious optimism!

I like Ihart but at 24 you either see more and inconsistency with it if there is a higher ceiling. He likely might have reached it which is not a bad thing. Just not seeing a higher level. More outside shooting perhaps.
Does that make Mitch expendable in a trade? Maybe. Does that mean iHart is the future? Not really. teams change. We all do.

we're kinda where I think a lot of us thought we'd be- right about 500.

Actually- if we can keep beating losing teams, and just start beating some better teams- then we'll make the play offs.

Nalod @ 11/9/2022 8:53 AM
Knicks lead and we kept players in? Did Minny pull their starters first or did we? I thought it was up to the defeated to put up the white flag first by emptying the bench.
The way teams can now rally with 3 pts shots in a short period of time, or get fouled while in the act I can't say when its time.

Also, Thibs might be developing a thing where he wants his core to put the heel in their throats and not go easy EVER. Im not saying that what happened vs. ATL ( who beat Milwaukee!) but lets just say you don't become a winning culture until you are forged with intensity.
