Detroit has guys in Duren and Stewart who set phenomenal picks. Super wide bodies that are rock solid, just like Jennifer Lopez’s dump truck.
It may not matter if it’s OG or Mikal guarding Cade in the PnR well, it’ll matter what KAT is doing behind it that make OG or Mikal get back to his guy.
I’m right about Lopez, right?
Whats going to happen is Cade is gonna get pull up 3 opportunities in space when Bridges runs around the pick to avoid the contact. Cade doesnt hit these at a high rate against the league, but he did hit them in the games against us.
Another thing I heard Fred Katz mention this week is if you put Josh on Ausar, Ausar is great at crashing the glass and Josh is not a box out guy. Josh gets boards by ball pursuit and hustle and not traditional box out. Teams gave attacked that by crashing board's with Josh's man.
You might also see Ausar guard Josh, because that will give Ausar the freedom to roam off Josh to create havoc in the passing lanes and on help (i.e how we want to use OG).
That would mean Cade on Brunson - a big guy and an improved defender, but someone you would expect Brunson to cook. Or at least need Brunson to cook in a playoff series.

I want to see them pick up Cade as soon as the ball is inbounded. Make him work, first playoff series for Cade. We want to make him feel the pressure.

Pressure.......I want him to feel PAIN! I want him to have bloody nose from anxiety, not contact. I want Cade to enter a dark room and feel fear as if OG is there with him. Even when he is sleeping.
For Timmy Jr? Twice a knick. Timmy has made a lot of money but did not make it here. I want him to doubt his manhood in MSG.
Malik Beasley? Dude got some heavy domestic issues and I don't condone his family in pain, but if his shooting is off, I won't gloat too much.
Coach Bickerstaff? I hope that COY votes (he'll finish after Atkinson and or Mark Daigneault)feels good after getting swept.
Pressure.........Its fucking Detroit. Pressure is on them!

Put OG on the man who’s setting the picks. We talk about using two centers but what about small ball? With small ball you switch everything with OG at center. Just a thought if the game goes sideways. I’m only 6 ft. But in AZ (city league game) we played against a similar type team that exposed our center. So I played center. Put someone undersized yet strong enough to hold his own, and switch everything. This is why we have WING STOP. Towns alone will get cooked on defense. He needs Mitch or needs to sit. Again only if everything goes wrong, like an emergency full press team.
And yes she definitely has a lot of JUNK. In the TRUNK 🧐
"Thibs doesnt make adjustments"
Another masterclass in coaching last night
Did Detriot come undone or did knicks tear them apart?
Once Beas Shimmied it was over.
Thibs played Payne longer but he lit the spark. Getting "Freak out" Bridges back in was effective. He hit some key shots when Pistons made a last ditch effort. Brunson made me nervous as he was doing some iso and seemed to be doing too much hero ball. Then, he got smooth and it all worked itself thru......
Duran and Stewart no match for Townes and Mitch.
Thibs put the choke on Detroit. His subbing in and out is tru playoff Thibian. Short leash.

For once you said something I agree with. But he adjusted last night and was brilliant. 9 man rotation. Who said old dogs can’t learn new tricks.
Sat Mikal was the right move. Moving him to the bench permanently, is what I want, but clearly the wrong move. Starting Mitch is what I want but clearly the wrong move. Thibs deserves his flowers and I don’t mind giving him his flowers.
Pray for health and strength for OG and JB. Two key players we need to win moving forward. And can’t forget cam Payne. Delon who? Cam Payne shut all that noise down and glad he did. This team needs clutch performers and that’s been cam all season. Props to cam.

Same rotation Thibs has been using since Mitch got back. I’d say the win was more about Cam than Thibs. He did a good job though.
Is this thread still here?

yeah I think we know
We know it wasn’t a “masterclass”. Talk about a low bar.

oh you got me!
I said Thibs did a good job. A coaching “masterclass” is what you call winning a 7 game series vs Boston. The kind of coaching we see from Spoelstra. We held serve, Thibs did a good job, on to the next one.
Our horrible defense on defending the 3 has been one of out problems all year long. Not only do they make them but most of these guy have nobody near them. Even our poll thought by 76% that we need to shore this up. If Thibs shows no improvement in this are I'm in on moving on from him and getting a new voice for the players to listen to. We are 26th out of 30.

The Cavs are so ****ed today! Spo in da house!!!
I like how Thibs stuck with his regular season 9 man rotation. I was thinking he goes back to a 7-8 man playoff rotation. So I like that adjustment along with pulling Mikal and Deuce out. Subbing in Mitch when he did. I even like how he put in shammet first and early. That was a surprise wrinkle. We talk about the growth in certain players but Thibs has definitely grown as a head coach (for me). I always saw him as a defensive coordinator for a head coach. And I still think he needs more offensive minded coaches on his staff. But props to Thibs for having his hand print on this game. Wasn’t a typical JB save us game. Even though KAT was the one who stepped up. Seems like every game might be a new hero.

This series might be too tall an order without Butler.

where's Butler? Did he quit on the coach and demand a trade?
