And if we are winning a game, but you continue to make bone head plays, I’m not going to wait until we lose to say something. Maybe that’s you but me, I’m giving you an earful before we lose and while we have the lead. To warn you that we may win this game but we not winning a chip like that. Staying with your hypothetical response. That’s all fans are saying about Thibs, JB, towns, the rotation, Leon, fans with high expectations. Pick an argument if you like. But I’m not waiting until Thibs lose a locker room. I’m speaking up BEFORE he lose a locker room. Just to clarify your hypothetical post reply.
But let’s table this talk until there’s a crash and burn. That’s what you like which is cool with me. Others like to discuss ways the Knicks can win this damn game (today) and win a chip (in the near future).
Right now whether it’s the players, coach or Leon. This team can’t win a chip unless something changes. And knowing Thibs he will make the right changes to win game 6 hopefully. Back to your clunky offense response, saying it’s the Celtics causes us to look clunky. Then what’s the excuse all season? Are we playing the Celtics for 82 games? Cause we’ve looked clunky on offense all season. No more excuses. Just get better and do better. We got KAT to help spread the offense and take pressure off JB. Let KAT be KAT. And see where that takes us.
so regarding the bold... Knicks were the 5th best offense in the league. So i'm super comfortable with the results.
That being said I expect better ball movement and better offense next year. 2 new starters is significant for this league. But considering the bench was terrible, missed Brunson a month and had 2 new starters 5th in offense and 9th in PPG is very good.
It really comes down to playoffs where he's super close to a huge upset.
Yeah the best way for Towns to get more looks at 3 is to exploit the shit out of smaller defenders inside/in the post. Untill he does that, he'll have the like of Jrue Holiday playing up on him behind the arc and he can either force contested 3's or take logo 3's (as he's generally been doing).
Otherwise the only we've gotten Towns clean looks at 3 is as a trailer in transition before defenses can send their wings to him.

we have seen it in stretches for sure, but I dont know why we go away from it so much. Especially early

He can do it, but a few considerations-
He has to keep his elbows down and use his body. He is the biggest guy on the floor...elbows and hooks aren't needed to win the low post and the refs are always looking to call that.
He has to be committed to playing this way - its not necessarily his comfort zone.
When they do send the doubles, he needs to find a way to find the open man.
KAT is perfectly capable, but it isn't quite like giving Julius the ball down low...

Also I think we go away from hit because he gets 3 fouls

Is that too much to ask for? I feel like towns has the size but doesn’t have the smarts in the post. And the Celtics rarely double so he would have time to get to his spot. And smart enough to pass out of the double teams when they come. I’m also ok with him attacking the double teams. He can still shoot over two small guys.
For the record, towns reason for not shooting 3s this series was towns words blaming the system as well as how they guard him. But that’s BS. Have we ever heard Jordan or Kobe blame a system. If you are getting paid like a great player like a superstar, then you have to impact the game like a superstar. And it starts with not getting into foul trouble. Play more double bigs. I would bet Thibs will play Mitch and deuce more today. And bring them in early in the 3rd not when it’s already a blowout.
I don't know if he's smart enough to pass out of double teams. I don't see him consistently pass out of double teams. Yes he can make some spectacular passes, but I think consistently finding the open guy out of the double is not a strong suit for him. Randle was terrific, KAT doesn't really do this well. We should get way more open looks at 3 as a team, and we don't.

Would agree.
He has played a decent series. Shot well and somewhat impactful.
The Biggest gripe with KAT, is that he cannot create his own shots.
IMO, that’s why you pay big money to superstars.
Randle was not a superstar, but for his pay scale, he was pretty good at creating his own shot and demanding double teams.
Guys that are making $50 plus, for the most part, can create their own shots if not double teamed.
JB has been playing like our superstar.
If Knicks get to the finals, is this thread going to be locked?
Asking for a friend.

Only if they win, probably.

Keep in mind, even if that happens. (Cancel Culture)
Every thread basically turns into a “fire Thibs” thread anyway.
Kinda like the “Trade Randle” one.

The diplomatic solution would be to remove the "Fire" from "Fire Thibs" in the thread title.
Besides, SambaKnick was paying Thibs a compliment like the kids do today. Like Thibs is Fire! Or FireThibs!

WE can lock it, but will a "Fire Thibs" thread really die?
Like a movie villain, they get back up.
As long as there are fans, there are "Fire The Coach" treads.......
I wouldn’t fire Thibs until the end of the season.
Well… maybe if we lose game one against the Pacers.

Lmao. “He is Fire”
Not playing cam in game 6 was a Fire move by Thibs.
