Not gonna let you get away with making this post without explanation.

I’m sorry but whose fault is it that these guys are paid millions of dollars and can’t hit their free throws? This is 1000% their fault. They had the game and they screwed the pooch.

Alpha1971 @ 12/27/2022 11:15 PM
If they are going to trade Cam do it already if not, play him
TPercy @ 12/27/2022 11:16 PM

HofstraBBall @ 12/27/2022 11:16 PM
Luka with 22 FT's??? This league sucks

Many questionable calls this eve.

46 minutes for McBride
51 minutes for Quick
45 minutes for Randle
48 minutes for Grimes

That is insane. I know we are short handed, but Christ that’s ridiculous

Let da yoots play. And this is why.

We are too fragile of a team to survive any playoff series.

Might as well join the tank-a-thon. Try to get a high pick. Putting lipstick on a pig is getting old. Time to get a new pig.

I saw parts of this game. But what I am seeing (and I could be wrong) through this game and the other 3 losses is

Teams have figured out Grimes and Mcbride. Mcbride at least is still playing good D but I noticed him shooting more.

Grimes on the other hand I have watched make stupid fouls at the end of games, miss key shots, and make bad decisions. I don't know if it is who he is or just the lul before his next stage of development but I am starting to really dislike some of what he is doing.

Teams are switching Grimes off their best offensive player and targeting Randle using the pick and roll just to isolate. Especially at the end of games or key possessions.

The failure to execute at the end of games can be layed at the feet of both coach and players.

Massive failure by the coach to make adjustments or at least try to find a hot hand by running plays for different players. And NO I am NOT advocating playing guys like Fournier or Cam. I am advocating using different strategies with your best players.

It's on the coach to adapt but on the players to execute. I think there is a total failure on both right now.

I may be old school but, free throws or no free throws, not giving up 9 points on the final minute would fall directly on the players shitting the bed on defense.

I know Randle is a beast. I know he wants to win. I know he’s our best players.

But he’s a hot head. And that negative energy is getting old.

4 in a row.

Knicks love streaks

1. Thibs not calling timeout when Grimes was doubled at the baseline.
2. Thibs not putting Sims in for Grimes when all we needed was a rebound.

That's two blown decisions before you get to his rotations and not having a veteran like DRose out there.

Clean @ 12/27/2022 11:33 PM
I could accept not playing Cam when I thought we had a trade lined up for the 15th of December. We are now near the end of the year and we are short people and still not using him. Whatever that is going on with Cam is losing us games because we are forced to overplay players.
MS @ 12/27/2022 11:34 PM
Grimes is only 22.

He did drop 32 tonight, I think he still doesn’t know how good he can be. He should have been attacking Luka on the wings and needs to welcome contact when he goes to the hoop.

He has made a few very tough plays this week when it mattered, but he’s a real bright spot.

This one is definitely on the coach

When the average NBA player plays above 32 minutes their FT shooting becomes 50-50 (the Knicks roster prove that a fact in so many games).
The Big Problem with that is they are hoisting up 3 ball shots after 40 minutes of playing time.
Thibs played a 8 man rotation tonight in a OT game ...

The substitution rests directly on Thibs. Grimes can call a timeout in that situation too. I would think that is on them both.

Can Grimes substitute himself out for Sims? Ultimately its Thibs decision to trust Grimes.

I thought this was a great freakin game.

Not even sweating a loss and collapse at end of fourth.

I don’t know how anyone can complain that the young guys got too many minutes, that’s just a level of ridiculousness that I can’t even comprehend.

These young guys are just soaking up the experience.

IQ and McBride just gotta makes some shots and that’ll come eventually.

Take it in, it’s called development. Been happening for a while now.
