Lol classic Thibs. Probably tired from all those birthday minutes.
Going to bump this thread to give thibs a break. The Fire Thibs thread has turned into the “minutes” thread somehow 🤷♂️
NYK and Hofstra, have at it.
Unless someone believes thibs should be fired, here we can talk mins since that’s the old now new hot topic.
2019 – Timberwolves Roundup: Thibs’ minutes problem, and KAT as the future
“Both Thibs and some team members attributed the loss to poor shooting or effort, but there was another factor at play: fatigue. “
“Wolves fans (and everyone other casual observer of the NBA) know that Thibs simply can’t help but overplay his starters, and he is what he is as a coach at this moment in time, for better or for worse.”
2021 – New York Knicks Hurt By Minutes Distribution Under Tom Thibodeau
“This is a disappointing yet predictable pattern for the best and most trustworthy players on teams coached by new Knicks bench boss Tom Thibodeau, whose Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves teams routinely had players lead the league in minutes played over the years.”
The 2019 and 2021 article I posted is the baggage thibs carried with him when he came to the Knicks. This issue with mins did not start in the Knicks thread.
How do I feel about it? I have no feelings about it. That’s his style of coaching and it’s on par with other coaches. That’s about it.
Can Randle handle those mins? I don’t know. Whats Randles performance in the regular season vs the playoffs?
Even more recent, look at the 4th quarter vs 1st quarter for Randle. There’s a significant drop off in crunch time. Is that mins or maybe he doesn’t have that clutch gene. Because Randle is one of the hardest working players in the nba. And he hasn’t missed a game all season. So maybe it’s not about mins. But whatever it is, it needs to be fixed if we want to get out of the 1st round.
Hofstra I think u clicked the wrong thread again. Focus it’s about mins. Remember. Ask me anything u want about mins if that’s your choice. Eventhough I’ve said enough already.
And you still haven’t responded.
To Hofstra…..Is Randle a superstar? Can he handle the superstar mins he’s getting? Why does he taper off in the 4th and in the playoffs?

But digging deeper into the stats, the rep is really not warranted. The discussion should really end there.
P.S. Sorry.....I can't fucking let this topic stop triggering me.

Stop? I’m not even sure how it started 😆 All I care is we winning consistently finally. And we are witnessing synergy between vets, yoots and coach. Now the FO starting to look like geniuses. For the first time the Knicks are built for the present and future. I’m not used to this. I’m used to everything going ha-wire. Something to complain and fuss again. Now fans are splitting hairs on silly topics. That’s the sign of greatness upon us.
Now that we have Hart, I'm looking for RJ's minutes to decrease. I'm afraid he's a bust for a number 3 overall pick.

Knicks: Won 4 in a row and 6 of 7.
Knicks fans: "RJ Barrett"

Pithy and accurate summary! Mainly because they can't get away with "fire Thibs" or "dump Randle" for the moment.

Going to make RJ, my Randle 2.0
Same complaints we heard about Randle ayear ago. Most ignoring his ability. I get it. Hard to watch RJ take so many missed shots. I hate his court vision. However, RJ can ball. He just needs time to continue developing his all around game. Hart's example will help.
Up to the trainers, coaches to guide him to develop his passing and overall Bball IQ. Think he can do it. Thus far, think his job was just to develop his ability to score. He will find out that this is just the start of being a good winning Bball player. Think Thibs is already showing him this. But feel the criticism is more about expectations. Many, including me, wanted a franchise type player at number three that could carry us through a couple of rounds of the playoffs. Hard for many one and done's to meet those type of expectations.

Mainly because he hasn't playing well. I'm not ant-RJ, but he's not a rook anymore. He's a big boy and who's been extended. He played good last night. I won't even ding him for the turnovers. But the future of this team as it's currently constructed rides on RJ's improvement. I'll be the first to admit that RJ has made incremental improvements. He's also taken steps backwards and I can live with that. But the slack D and dumb decision making is tough. It's show and prove time. Winning teams can't tolerate those kind of mental lapses. RJ has heated up at the tailend in the past. Let's see what he can do now that the stakes are higher.

Barret is under the spotlight and clyde is our voice. Clyde is a subliminally very much a hater.
Im out west right now visiting my son. WE watched the game together last night, his first in long time and he points this. Its clyde, so he can't be wrong?
NO doubt Barrett under the microscope for now.
Clyde? Always my GOAT!
Quickley with an outstanding game. Of course it took an nba league record this season all 56 mins. Damn thibs. Drose couldn’t get any? 😂
