We’ll just checked the box score and that’s not a good indicator of how many players was on thibs rotation. It definitely says grimes was in foul trouble so that explains why more mins was open for deuce to consume who also had roughly 16 mins. Either way we have to find a way to win game if the plan is to make the playoffs. I hate that plan but what do I know. Right now if we don’t stop this skid, it’s going to snowball in the wrong direction.

Even a temporary expansion of the rotation would give the current rotation players a breather before the playoffs. Especially with Mitch out. We're going to need more scoring to offset the pts we will be giving up in the paint.
Didnt feel this way until recently, but expanding the rotation might end up being the only way to make the playoffs, absent a trade.
They'll get some rest over the all-star break, so there's that. I'm hoping the players who have been sitting all season (or most of it) get a chance to make a case for more PT.

No wonder our bench is weak. They all in THIBS DOG HOUSE. If Rose and Cam played, that;s a 9 man rotation
When the facts don't support your argument, make up your own.
Thibs DID play 9
Oh ok. I heard someone say he played 7. And I;m not talking garbage time, but ok he played 9. I also heard 4 of that 9 played during the start of the 4th quarter and atl went on a 16-1 run. Any comments about that?
I don't even understand the point you're trying to make. 4 of the 9 player rotation that played the game started the 4th quarter? What's the alternative? Start the fourth with Archi, Svi, and Cam?
Btw, they were down by 2 points or something at the start of the fourth, so the rotation was getting it done until then. Until they became the Generals
What a stinker. Hope they shake off the suck soon
On balance we have a terrible roster...no shooters and one of our top 3 players makes terrible decisions when the pressures on, JR.
Ugly game to watch! We're going to dig ourselves a big hole if this is what we're going to look like the next few weeks without Robinson. I cannot stand games where we don't play defense and cannot rebound!
Zero complaints offensively. You should win when you score 124 points on 59% shooting and 27 assists to 12 turnovers. But it's a wasted effort when you don't do anything else! The defense was horrendous! Cannot give up 139 points on 59% shooting! The Hawks did whatever they wanted with little resistance. Can't say anyone had a good defensive game. I thought Grimes got some cheap foul calls to start the game but the minutes he did play he was awful defensively allowing Young to get into the paint with ease. I really hate the way Young plays basketball hunting fouls. THAT IS NOT BASKETBALL IDC WHAT ANYONE SAYS!
Is it the coach or is it the players? I’m just not seeing any kind of offensive philosophy or identity for the team to rely on. These kind of break downs are a real head scratcher. You would never see a Pop’s coached team fall apart like that but I don’t know if you can hang this on the coach either. We aren’t good at playing with pace and the speed of the game looked like it picked up in the 4th. Head scratcher. I don’t know what went wrong but this far into the season fingers need to be pointed, problems identified, changes made.
Man, if the Giants lose today I’m going to be real salty. Losing to the Hawks and the Eagles is going to really suck

I'm just curious. Is 124 points not a good offensive showing? On 59% shooting and 43% from 3? With double assists to turnovers?
Doesn't sound like the offense was a problem in this one.
And you need to be honest with what this team is. It's success rests with positive defensive trends.

We scored 23 points in the 4th Q. Atlanta scored 37points in the 4th Q. Everything was a problem in the 4th Q. Well coached teams stick with their identity and execute. We don’t do that. I can’t say if it’s a coaching problem or a player problem but I can say it’s a problem.

So 4th quarter execution is the problem. Their offense scored them 124 points. 4th quarter execution and defense was the problem.

Which lineup in the 4th is having the most success? Is it the same 5 who cant close now? IDK
With Rose, he seemed to get a fast hook off of the rotation. Hasn't played at that weight in a long time.
Shooters like Fournier need a few games to get their shot going. He's rested now.
Im hoping Thibs gives the players who are glued to the bench some PT right after the all star break.
I would rather risk a lower seed with a team that has more in the tank. Than riding the same players into the postseason, if we make it. Dont believe it will end well.
blkexec wrote:martin wrote:blkexec wrote:martin wrote:The ref that calls this foul is directly behind Hart's back, so his vision is impaired for body contact. And the fact that they review this play and still uphold is just ludicrous. Like what the fuck is going on?
You can't take games seriously when Trae gets to land wherever he wants and then also takes 4 steps on the possession flagrant foul.
And then this. It's awful, NBA wanted the Knicks to lose. No 2 ways around it. This is one of the dumber things I've seen recently.
It’s a bad call but it’s legal. You supposed to jump straight up. Hart jumped and was moving with hunter and made body contact. So when the refs look at their rule book, technically it’s the right call.
But for the love of 90s basketball, it’s rules like that, that’s killing the game. No way in hell should that be a foul. It’s usually a no call. But once again, if the call was a foul in real time, it’s almost impossible to have it reversed because of the technicalities of the touch foul rules. And guess what you see in slow motion? Touch fouls. Killing the game!
Should go back to more no call and jump ball, with plays like that.
You do understand that Hart wasn’t called for a body contract foul, right? And it had nothing to do with jumping straight up, something you can also tell by the video?
Ok well I guess the Knicks wasn’t the only one off yesterday. My bad. Well glad I didn’t see this game. Sounds like it was more of a heart break for those who watched it.
You do understand why you can never be taken seriously with anything you say, right?
- you didn’t watch the game
- you comment on a play you didn’t see
- you reply to a video which you didn’t watch
- you made up details in your response about a video right there for you to examine
- you got everything wrong
Literally what is left?
It’s like you don’t really care and just blathering along some nonsense.
Have some respect man for your fellow Knicks fans and fandom, cause you are not taking part in that.

Awful rebounder.
He is doing himself a disservice.
Randle Post Ups and ISOs are the very definition of inefficient and have been for years.
Yup, it’s why the coaching staff wants him downhill to rim and shooting 3s.
He gets doubled in post a lot and makes poor decisions

How the fuck else would you check to see who played how many minutes in a rotation for a particular game?
It’s a hall of fame level sentence, and not in a good way.
