I mean he is definitely a rotation player, but is he a difference maker? He seems fairly average at everything when he plays the Knicks. He plays he similar minutes to our starters on average as a starter in Toronto and is considered a two way player. Most nights it looks like he is efficient at shooting averaging 45.9% from the field and 36.4% from 3 this season. I can't find a stat for how many shots he takes a game but he looks like a 4th option on Toronto behind Siakam, Trent Jr and VanVleet. When I watch him he seems to stand in the corner waiting for the kick out and sometimes attacks the close out. He is not as good a shooter from the top of the arc as he is from the corners. His D looks good but I'm not seeing elite or stopper. He has decent size but not super athletic or long for a wing
He's still young but is he a FA or a RFA after next season? This is his 6th season so I'm guessing FA. Toronto has a high asking price. He's usually invisible but is averaging 17.4 points this season, 11.3 career
If the cost is IQ and Grimes plus our 1st rd pick, do you do it? It's not like Toronto is a team is afraid to play and they got some talented guys there.

I don't. I pretty sure that this team isn't an OG away from being serious. While I agree the team can use a stout forward for defensive purposes, I think the team needs an offensive creator more. Probably an offensive overhaul as well, but one step at a time
You watched the game last night. Oh gone. No real impact. Barnes had more room as did others. Raptors have like 6 hybrid forwards kuzma way better than og
I honestly was not that impressed in the games we played Toronto. OG is supposed to be this defensive monster and Randle did whatever he wanted against him. I would much rather keep our own home grown RJ. Plus there is talk about Toronto wanting a Spida type package and that's a deal breaker. OG is a nice player but not worth what they are asking for and he's not going to elevate this team to that next tier.
The guy I love on that team is Trent!

I watched the 1st Q. I think you are saying that there was no real difference without Anunoby in the line up? So not a difference maker?

Exactly
What is w Toronto anyway? They are better than their record

FVV has only played and shot well against the Knicks it seems.
I discussed this in another thread but Read a blog (take it for what that is worth) and the "source" indicated:
"Two players with potential and a first round pick". Thats not Spida price. The return was Obi, IQ, Reddish (cap purpose) and a first round.
The thought has to be he would put Grimes on the bench and they both play wings. Not sure it matters who is SF or SG.
Also that he is a better version of what he was and his utility improves the team over and above what is going out the door.
That we have an outline of a deal in place for extension.
If you can't do all of that its logical you don't make the deal. Clearly he upgrades the rotation in my opinion. Fromr their standpoint They obviously have a 3to1 trade to digest and more logjam at PF.
I'd assume we find a third team for Reddish? Or they do? He is not worthless.
I can't say that solves their issues short term but thats not my call nor do I care. If the deal does not work for them then they won't do it.
Of all its a low probability concept as most trade rumors rarely pan out.
I like it as it consolidates assets into one player yet we still have plenty of 1st round picks we can digest.
Change is inevitable and more would come over the next few years.
Better them than us 🤣... Unless it is us 🤬

Depends on which three.
Detroit, Wash and Dallas works for me.

I'd offer those 3 and Rose's contract.

I'd offer a choice of any two out of three. I know the hardline kinda of backfired with the Mitchell negotiations, but I still think it's important not to over bid.

Yep, that's why we have you and Brock to pull us back from the Minny first round giveaway ledge
Fournier and 3 1st, fine by me. Can’t teach defense and if you’re not giving up Obi, IQ, Simms and Grimes is back on the bench it’s a big difference.

yup
OG is everything we were hoping Cam could be in the beginning of the season. If the Knicks can make a trade like this happened, they need to pull the trigger.
but....if I'm Toronto, I'm asking for RJ Barrett. The Raptors aren't a bad team and I'm finding it hard to believe they are going to do a hard reset on the team.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out for Toronto.
I can't figure out what the leverage points are for either players or teams but FVV and Trent are essentially UFA's and I don't think a team can trade someone with that type of contract and get an over payment in terms of what is coming back. I think.
It'll probably be the same way next year with OG and Pascal, those 2 players will have munch more leverage to dictate the type of contract they want. Which teams have cap space will help inform on that too.
So between now and say beginning of summer, Toronto will have leverage - give or take - over player but then it gets hot for GM.
Just checking, Masai Ujiri cant offer that to himself just to make a headline, right?
BigDaddyG wrote:Better them than us 🤣... Unless it is us 🤬
He makes Fornier money.
Y'all jump on OG (I do like him) who has been in the league 5 years, but RJ, who is trending better at 3.5 some are losing patience "after 4 years" and want to move on.
OG was the 23rd pick. Need some patience with young players. Not our players though, is that right?
How reliable is this rumor?
BigDaddyG wrote:Better them than us 🤣... Unless it is us 🤬
Hopefully Knicks don't fall for this. Don't think they will.
The ole 'some mystery team".
He is not worth 3 picks. He is due a big pay raise and Raptors, who know him well, do not think he is worth it.
PASS! Rather use a couple of ones and move up a strong drat board.

Mystery team was the Maple Leaves.
