Knicks · Irving to Dallas (page 4)

After beating the Celtics Cavs Heat and Philly, I feel like at least the Knicks can make it competitive in the playoffs vs. those teams. Nets were and Bucks are still at another level at least for this season.

I'm pretty positive on this deal for both teams. I think Kyrie's schtick will fly better in Texas. He'd probably get good press for refusing the vax vs what happened in NY. Good for the NBA too if Luka's teams have a chance.

Nets really rolled the dice on the Simmons trade. It looks like the worst contract in the league now and the Nets are going to have to really thread the needle to stay competitive.

Good take on the Kyrie in Texas thing. They will love his defiance!
Cuban mistakes are ambitious ones. The team reaches via free agency and trades.
But he has something Dolan has yet to achieve: "A ring with I his name on it".
So for all his mistakes, he has succeeded.
I admire what Prohorov tried to do with Nets. HE made a crazy money from buying from Ratner under distress and getting a hell of. price. Did it all before sanctions also. He actually has gotten screwed but is one of the few who is not restricted as he does not own any Russian enterprises in the last few years.
I also admire the balls Joe Tsai had in attempting the latest with Durant/harden/Kyrie. I know its the nets and Durant teased us and never came through, but the ambition by Tsai to fund that run was cool. Knick fans are no doubt delighted!!!!

That Sean Marks has been there post Billy King to rebuild and then administer this recent star-phuch(in the end, thats all its been) is really quite interesting. Two owners and he survived. Make no mistake about it, both reiterations of "ambitions" are the creations of their owners. GM's don't get to spend that kind of money without a directive.

Love or hate the Nets are a very interesting franchise!!!!

Kyrie claiming he was "disrespected" in Brooklyn in his Dallas presser. What can you say about this fool.

I fear Nets got better if KD healthy and head on straight.

Got bigger at PG and nice wing in DFS plus whole team will play D and fly around on both ends like Tasmanian Devils

Rather Knicks face Celtics, Cavs, Heat and maybe Sixers vs playing Kyrie less Nets.

Right! Plus they freed Cam! Cam Thomas!

I think Cam reminds Durant of his little homey Alonzo Trier.

It was a good trade for the nets. Dinwiddie’s a good player who actually plays. Ditto for Finney Smith

"I just know I want to be places where I'm celebrated and not just tolerated or just kind of dealt with in a way that doesn't make me feel respected," Irving said after Tuesday's practice at USC's Galen Hall. "There were times throughout this process when I was in Brooklyn where I felt very disrespected and my talent -- I work extremely hard at what I do. No one ever talks about my work ethic, though. Everyone talks about what I'm doing off the floor, so I just wanted to change that narrative, write my own story and just continue preparing in the gym, and now that I'm in Dallas, just focus on what I control."

I get the click bait thing but it seems pretty reasonable when you read it in context. If you're in a toxic relationship, you should just get out.

Drama seems to be a release valve for Kyrie. I expect a highlight rich second half for the Mavs. They'll make some noise in the playoffs. Kyrie will extend, then Luka will ask for a trade. When the drama returns.

Now you come and say "Don Corleone, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect. You don't offer friendship. (c)

I disagree with “pretty reasonable.” The guy is totally me first and then paints himself as a victim. Not to mention showing where his heart is by taking down the apology. Takes zero accountability for his actions.

Kyrie has all the makings of an ambitious politician.
MS @ 2/8/2023 8:54 AM
Couldn’t even nail the press conference.
Good bye Luka!

Cam Thomas three 40pt games in a row is no joke. They will probably be better adding more defense and another rotation player that’s three and d.

He’s an extreme narcissist who loves attention. I’m so sick of hearing about how great a player he is. He makes no one around him better and is a ballhog to go along with his off court theatrics

Kyrie needs some gold star treatment

GustavBahler @ 2/9/2023 11:47 AM
Kyrie leading the Mavs to a W without Luka, might be a preview of their future.

Gotta wonder what Luka was thinking from the bench? Kyrie was probably thinking "nice team, I think I'll take it." lol
