Exactly...Love is a great shooter, something we desperately need but I'm afraid our front office has a allergic reaction to good shooters. We've never seem to go after any. i.e. JR Barrett, Obi,

All Star power forward Randle says hello.
JBrunson Says Hi.
22 year old QGrimes sends his regards.
Did we even think of KLove in the FO?

If Love exposes Obi's poor defense it will be a pretty solid sign that he shouldn't get a contract extension this summer. IQ has already earned it, it's just about the number now.

I'm confused on why Cleveland bought out the contract of Kevin Love rather than keeping him for another weapon off their bench and especially come playoff time?

Why would Cleveland (as a 4th seed) just throw away Kevin Love like that while also allowing Miami to steal him?

It doesn't look like the Cavs were using Love that much. I see he's racked up a bunch of DNPs. Plus, he looked wash the last two games he played against us. I doubt the Cavs consider Love much of a threat anymore.

He’s probably our highest IQ player on the team and top energy guy who also impacts in transition. Can’t say enough about this guy. Starks is my favorite player but Hart is creeping up there. I just love players who impacts the game with or without offensive stats.

I disagree. I think it’s the opposite (see EF contract). I think they finally learned to just add thibs type players. And plus adding a vet like love will only push the youths down with minimal gain on defense. Then you need love to accept that roll. I think Love chose the right team for the right opportunity for him. Perfect match. He would not be happy on NY sitting between Drose and EF.

I thought Hart didn't really impact the Miami game, but Knicks still getting the win just shows how much depth they have.

I think IQ beats him by a smidge but that's nitpicking

The fact that we are even arguing which one impacts more or has higher IQ is great. That means both deserve the same credit to me. Which is why our second unit is so dangerous.

I just thought about this, when looking at josh hart and how he impacts grimes mins.

I believe without hart, we are a 1st round playoff exit team. With hart we have an ECF ceiling.

So reducing grimes mins is worth for this playoff run.

My question is, if hart signs a long term deal along with IQ. Where does that leave grimes, sims, deuce?

But hart definitely makes us a legit threat. Just watching his defense on Tatum was great. I think OG is a bigger defensive presence on Tatum but hart plays bigger than his size.

Sims is on a cheap contract and in a position where depth is not a bad thing to have - so guess he will be back in a similar role. Even though Deuce is one of your favorites - he is on an option for next year and is a bit redundant while having other guards who can defend but also can score. Guessing his option will not be picked up. Grimes remains valuable even with reduced minutes as a wing defender and his salary is cheap through next year (as well as 2024 team option). He will be back in similar role (and also potential for expanded role as insurance for injury).

Note that transitioning from "Good to Great" is often more difficult than the change from Bad to Good. It requires difficult decisions even when things are working. Generally it is a good idea to trade from strength in order to improve. My best guess is that the FO will try to trade for an "A" player - and that may require shipping out current fan favorite assets in the future such as Grimes or even IQ with picks.
