My favorite player is John Starks and Josh Hart is the closest you can get to Starks.

Streaky shooter but gives 110% effort when on the floor.

Josh represent NY basketball in it's purest form.

I see more Latrell Sprewell. Josh is very fast, and tough as nails. Also has that chip on the shoulder that Latrell had.

Knickoftime @ 2/15/2023 11:44 AM
Think it was a good trade. Optimistic about his fit/impact.

But can we give it a couple of months.

Anyone remember 'Quivers'?

Let's just wait ... for once.

I can see that. He definitely has some Sprewell in him, especially in the open court when he's playing downhill. I agree. Guess I'm just trying to find my Starks replacement. Also I don't remember is Sprewell was known for defense, but their enery and momentum plays has a similar impact on the team. I agree with that.

Let's see. We're not supposed to talk about RJ. Don't talk about Josh Hart.
Are the crocuses coming up yet?

How about how he had a good game?

Cause he did.

So, genuinely asking.

Is there actual confusion about the difference between talking about a player and talking definitely about how that player is going to impact the Knicks for the next 1 to 4 years?

Are those the same thing?

I know this is a Knicks board, but is it okay to talk about how Cam Thomas is better than Kyrie Irving already better than anyone on the KNicks roster?

did Austin Rivers have Josh Hart's track record? Josh Hart has been a very good player for a few years now. He was traded for Anthony Davis and CJ McCollum. He's played well everywhere he's been.

So genuinely asking... what the phuck does Josh Hart have to do with Austin Rivers?

What factors would you look at when considering if a new player is a good long term fit?

Possibly...
Fits into a system run by the coach who appears entrenched in this role
Fits in with current long term pieces the FO have extended or resigned (Mitch/Jules/Brunson/RJ... does Hart's game appear to be a good fit with these players?)
Age fits with current roster/timeline

Looks like Josh Hart has many of the attributes that would make him a good long term fit.

Also my crocuses are coming up and it sucks. One frost and they are dead. Its freeakin Feb. There's been no winter... its been 4 months of November

Josh Hart humorously told the story about how he scored 20 points a game his first two games with the Trailbalzers, who who was scoring 10 pts a game at 30% from three.

I'm just a longview guy. If Hart bounced around because he just never found his NBA glass slipper, AWESOME (for the Knicks).

Pro sports just teaches me to wait until the honeymoon is over, then you'll see what's what.

Smart, athletic, energy guy, good handle, good passer, rebounder, low turnover guy who plays D and can score. He makes his teammates better and seems like a good locker room guy. Fits the timeline and wants to be here. I’m not sure what you are looking for with your long view but I hope you find it

nobody is expecting Hart to be the 20ppg missing wing piece that gets us a chip. But he can level up our rotation and has the skills/fit to be a good long term idea

IF we make a deal that included youngers Hart is the perfect guy to reload with and bring back (opt out/resign)

VDesai @ 2/15/2023 10:13 PM
Hart has made a major 2 way impact. He brings together the 2nd unit in a lot of ways and is a great closer because of his defense and fearlessness.
Knixkik @ 2/15/2023 11:30 PM
I tend to reference that Jeremi grant deal for Portland as the type of buy-low opportunity the Knicks need to find. Josh hart for a lottery protected first round pick is exactly what I’m talking about. He’s a game-changer that came at a bargain price.

Leon Rose and Coach Thibs just improved our entire team (with the addition of Josh Hart) in preparation for our 2nd half Postseason/Playoff run.

ramtour420 @ 2/16/2023 3:23 AM
Two way player. That's all I asked for. However, Hart is more than that. We really lacked those free throw line extended rebounds ( Clyde always talks about it) and Hart really fills that need. Transition and 3point shooting are also needs and Hart brings both. Fantastic pick up. Really impressed by the front office
martin @ 2/16/2023 8:00 AM
I don't watch other teams at all but this guy is the perfect 6th man
Nalod @ 2/16/2023 8:11 AM
Hart is doing what we wanted Reddish to do. Play within the system and play impactful defense.
I like this rotation and minutes.
We won vs ATL despite RJ’s “WTF” outside shooting.
He still has a large bandage on his right hand from his “Contusion”. I wonder if that still has any effect. Its not his shooting hand, but seems fine otherwise. He’ll have 10 days to get it right. Maybe Some R and R will do him good, or hoist 1000 shots a day unitl the mechanics come back?

Hart is Starks? Spree? To me he has none of the flair of those two. I see a lunch bucket worker with a not so pretty jumper that goes in enough. Quick step to the basket and strong. His defense is very good. Very close to OG which should cost less in salary.

He definitely is. Both he and IQ are 2-way guys and seem complimentary. Hoping these 2 can lead the second unit for years to come.

If Thibs sees Jimmy Butler in him, how long before he's starting and Q becomes the 6th man

For now JHart is doing the iHart rotation. Does not start, but is finishing. Grimes can’t be out there at games end with RJ FOR NOW. RJ’s shot has left the building and Grimes seems to lose some bounce in the 4th which MAY be why he is not hitting clutch. Both are 22 years old. JHart for the next 22 games gives these guys still good minutes but less to shoulder.

fishmike @ 2/16/2023 10:01 AM
Hart said the green light Thibbodeau has given him is the first time in an NBA career that has spanned six different coaches and four different teams that he has had that kind of freedom. The Knicks’ coach made sure to correct him.

“Ultra green,” Thibodeau joked.

Oh that Thibs...
