Knicks · Suns and Nets talking big trade. Durant & Warren for Bridges, C. Johnson and Crowder (page 1)

CleaverGreene @ 2/9/2023 1:14 AM
Sounds like a done deal. They also get 4 #1s.

NYKMentality @ 2/9/2023 1:21 AM
Yoooooooo!!!!!

Yesssssss!!!!!

Bye bye KEVIN DURANT!

(I can finally enjoy his GREATNESS again).

BYE BYE NEW JERSEY NETS!!!!!!

Nets back to an NBA tank team 🤣🏀😂

Knixkik @ 2/9/2023 1:34 AM
Wow. Unbelievable. Glad to see KD and Kyrie out west.

Will the Nets try to deal some of those #1s by the deadline?

Do they want to regroup and get into the playoffs?

Good riddens! feel bad for star Bridges
could care less for KD interests. Both Nets
& Phoenix still won't win crap this year

Worse for Suns even though 😕 bigger star
acquired in KD. Lets see him get on court
first.

The great thing about signing big-name FAs is that you get a window to contend, and if it does not work out, you can still recover a bunch of first round picks.
The Nets could rebuild relatively will with the assets they got back from the Suns. If their youth keeps progressing, their roster is not that bad.

They are going to likely trade vets from their depth. Maybe a young player like Watanabe can be had for some seconds.

Nets are still going to be good, might take them a bunch of games- but Dinwiddie, Bridges, Crowder.

Definitely opens up a position at the top of the play off race.

Yuta is older than Josh Hart 🤣 Wouldn't mind the pick tho if he's available.

Isiah Thomas shows up and 4 first rounders are immediately out the door. The guy can't help it!

Obviously Suns had to do this

That Kyrie and Durant came as free agents the real costly trade was Harden.
They have a lot of picks, and a lot of tradable decent talent.
Quite impressed PHX was able to keep Paul and Ayton.

With Durant and Kyrie gone, I guess knicks can hate on Simmons now full time?

Phoenix tried to move Paul off to the Nets in the Kyrie deal, according to reports. Makes sense why that didn't move the Nets given their sudden change in direction.

So are the Nets still “cool?” And will there be any revisionist mea culpas on the Knicks “fail” in signing KD and Kyrie? Yeah sure.

Two thoughts - no question KD is a magnificent basketball player capable of transforming a team. But how brittle has he become? Second - it would seem this impacts the Knicks’ post season opportunities.

IMO the more successful the knicks are the less talk of what could have been goes away. Including the Durant/kyrie thing. Blowhards like SAS can rant and make notice of to increase ratings.
Nets were cool on a national level. Not in NYC. Have to win and make more noise.
Second reiteration of an ambitious starphuch that did not yield a chip in 10 years.
Nets got to conf. Finals and came a within a toe going to the finals. If Kyrie was able to play who knows. But Kyrie gets hurt, and Milwaukee went on to win.

Dancing on the failure of others does little to elevate our lack of achievement. Sean Marks gets to embark on another rebuild, his third.

Personally I did not think nets were “cool”, but what they attempted was. In the end they had one good run, lots of drama, and now sit with decent depth on good contracts and lots of picks to go forward with.

Why are we going to hate on Simmons? He's taking up ~ 40M of the Nets cap the next two years to take 6 FGA per game.

Man is doing the Lord's work!

The nets are the new talk of the town bra. Knicks are irrelevant. I got my Stephen and Max Kellerman 2019 talking points handy!

Now that Moe Larry and Curly are gone I have nothing against the Nets. In lieu of the Knicks doing well I hope they do. Just not at our expense of our team course.
