Really curious if the Knicks have the stomach to do this when they didn’t for Mitchell. LaVine has a lot of red flags but there’s also a lot of avenues to a deal.
We can't be this dumb, can we?

yeah man... I am pretty sure we are moving on from RJ at some point but this NOT the big fish I'm hot to get.

sure... 2 time all star. Great finisher. Really a pretty explosive scorer. His salary is total trash. Not in the Westbrook zone because he's younger but yikes

When you are constantly hearing that the knicks haven't been in any big trades. Knicks are a few players away from being a solid playoff team. Then you have familiarity with Lavine and the Bulls organization. On top of that, this might be Rose destination team.
If it makes since, I'm ok with it. When healthy (big when), Zach is a bucket.
Will Thibs play him even though his defense is not good and they have a "not great" history together? I like him and he would bring a different dimension that may complement Randle better as he's a better outside shooter, more athletic, etc... but his defense, salary and knee make me think he's not the right guy for us.

Coming off the 20-21 season, pairing Randle with Lavine was my dream scenario!
Now you got that albatross contract, disappointing play, and an inflated market where you're not even able to benefit from buying low.
LOL if Thibs been pissed at RJ's defense and we give him Lavine instead...
50 minutes.
DRose would be involved obviously

If its true that their history isnt good. And the FO still trades for Lavine. It might be a signal about Thibs future in NY. Not suggesting it means he's gone. Maybe wont have the pull he used to have in roster moves.

well what if it was like RJ/Rose/Obi and the Bucks/Wiz (heavily protected) picks? That is pretty low cost no? You keep all your future FRPs and trade out some spare parts for a bigger fish

Zach played with Thibs for like 45 games and was traded. A decade ago. I don't think it's really a thing that they have "not great" history together

Ha. Mentioned this to Martin on the Josh Hart thread last night.
Zach for RJ, Obi, Rose and picks.
Would not know how to feel.
Zach is a Rich Paul Klutch guy... isnt that CAA's mortal enemy?

Was that the trade for Butler? Not sure how much of that was about Lavine. Where there reports of friction?
Lavine? Price would have to be right for this.
They take turns playing iso ball?
YOung guys usually turn around and love Thibs because they realize in time he was right about many things.
I'll keep an open mind. What choice do we have but to ramble on and on about "being right about".......
I'd be sure if this deal is done some of us won't be happen as some of our favorites would be traded.

Yes Butler. No idea where the friction reports come from. Lavine was 21 at time, he was young and you know Thibs.

That awkward mix of buying low and selling low at the same time. Who's more likely fix their issues and trend upward, RJ or Zach? I don't have an answer. I still prefer to keep RJ, but if you've given up on him (and maybe the FO has), then it makes sense.
RJ + Obi (who evidently is carrying more value around the league than I thought), plus 2 protected firsts for Lavine in year 1 of his 5 year $215M contract.
32 minutes.
