32.5 PPG / 60.9 FG / 55.7 3P
6.3 APG / 1.2 TO
Averaging just under 30 ppg in the year 2023.
Just an insane hot streak. What a player.
I’m shocked when he misses sometimes. He’s just automatic.
Jalen Brunson has been unreal not only here in February but throughout the entire 2022-2023 season. He's been unreal. He's truly playing at an MVP level right now.
And tonight he showed Trae Young, how Trae Young is no match for him; because Jalen Brunson is 10x more physical/aggressive than Trae Young (you could just see the fear in the eyes of Trae Young and throughout the entire game too).
Jalen Brunson:
28 Points.
9 Rebounds.
5 Assists.
10/19 (.526%).
+/- of +22.
Trae Young:
19 Points.
1 Rebound.
11 Assists.
4/14 (.286%).
+/- of -13.
He's already my favorite NY PG of All-Time.
And he's going to become the one to unlock Julius Randle's confidence come Postseason play (I'm already convinced).

Forget All Star he’s on a Superstar Level these days.

Absolutely superstar. Feels like you can build a team around him with another guy on his level (and Randle as a #3)
I’m seeing Embiid, DeRozan and Jaylen Brown are all questionable for the allstar game. Wondering how this is going to play out and if Brunson is going to get a very last minute call.

Nice thing is Brunson is already playoff tested. It’s when he became a breakout star.
IMO Jalen's defense has ticked up a notch too recently

very happy that we have him, forget about that second round pick!

True. And its likely when leon told Wes, who told perry, who told Thibs, who told Rick Brunson, who met in the bathroom with Leons son, who then told JB that Knicks can and will pay more if he does not extend.
Rumor is Silver was in the stall sitting when it all went down and its why we got dinged a 2nd round pick.

I have no idea how they will respond, but Im looking forward to seeing how the yoots do in the playoffs. They talk about a game having a "playoff atmosphere" but its really not the same. They'll finally have some real playoff experience to build on, and learn from.
Randle was gassed by the playoffs, the last time. Which was pretty clear. Has a lot more help this time, and I know Randle wants to show that he can do better.
I think he's going to start putting up higher assist totals too because of Hart... Imagine if we can get a sharpshooter in the offseason. If the defenses has to choose between guarding Randle and sweet stroke, Brunson is going to carve the d up in the paint

Maybe I'm living in the moment but this is the best Knicks player I've seen since prime Ewing. I don't remember Melo playing like this!

haha I thought this was all done at the father-son, father-son bbq night dinner last spring
He and Julius are genuinely in synch
when one has it going, the other facilitates that rather than demanding "his fair share" or whatever.
i agree with other posters, when he shoots you expect it to got in. Same for Julius
Now if Grimes or RJ catches that wave we'll be all the better

Someone - who shall remains nameless - gets accused of 'psychoanalyzing' fans.
But anyone who's seen his career, anyone who watched the postseason last year, why would anyone have doubts about Jalen Brunson OTHER this his draft position and/or the fact he's a little undersized and sguare (as opposed to undersized and wirey) and isn't a dunker?
If that isn't fan psychology at work, I don't know what another explanation is.
Not as flashy but just as good
martin wrote:IMO Jalen's defense has ticked up a notch too recently
It is and Im not really sure why. They dont go at him like they were (with some success) earlier in the year.
Defense has been fantastic. Its almost a given these days the only defensive breakdowns we seem to have are 1) RJ doing something stupid or 2) Jules losing his man and #2 seems to be improving. I think getting Mitch back will really level up this thing
I don't blame Julius Randle as a PF for having a Playoffs meltdown against Atlanta 2020-2021.
Who was his PG? Elf Payton before being benched heading into game 3 (due to 2 games of crap PG play)?
Jalen Brunson is going to unlock Julius Randle's Superstar potential but this time it'll happen during the PLAYOFFS.
I'm just so anxious to see Julius Randle have an opportunity to redeem himself come postseason play because I already know he'll absolutely flourish alongside of Jalen Brunson.
And it's already happening right now.
