The dunking was special. When DR J came on the scene it be was art. Now its common place.
Every year you guys say how awful it is.
And your right. Not sure why anyone still watches. I read the game was a joke. I saw the highlight of the clear outs and it was comical.
But look at the stands. It was full. Many still tune in. Its not going away.
It’s a big social media weekend. Fun for the new generation. And for the players and basketball fraternity it’s a social/ party weekend. It’s more about experiencing the culture of allstar weekend as opposed to each event. Going to allstar weekend is like going to Vegas for a weekend.

What happens in Salt Lake city Stays in Salt Lake city. Nothing happend! LOL.
It's a sort of convention to celebrate itself.
My worry was he as rubbing that shoulder after his dunk like he strained something.
But if he isn't, Im not!

This tweet kinda screams otherwise...
The game sucks, worst all star game among the 4 sports ( maybe the NFL was as bad since they stopped playing it). Randle had no business in the 3 pt shot. even the announcers were surprised he was in it. Simms was bad. No imagination or flair, just how high can I jump. Someone needs to show him how to dunk for the contest.

If Washington was smart, they should have signed this kid for the year. Kinda hometown kid being from VA and get the locals excited about the Wizards.
The All-Star Weekend is for that new fan or fans under 18 imo. It's not for the old guys like most us imo. I used to LOVE it as a kid. I still remember going to the Javits Center in '98 for Jam Session and having a blast!
But as an adult, these events are unwatchable for me. I saw the highlights and was impressed of course with Mac McClung. To do what he does at his size is impressive! Kid looks like an accountant. I also found it funny that a white guy won a dunk contest in Utah of all places LOL. And I saw some bs on twitter about how embarrassed Sims must have been for his dunks. Like seriously? It's a meaningless dunk contest! WTF cares?! LOL Sims should have never participated honestly. Not because he can't dunk cause he clearly can but he doesn't have any charisma or personality which is a big part of winning that shit imo. Either way the dunk contest losses a lot of it's luster when the big time players refuse to participate.
Also saw some Randle bs on twitter about how embarrassing it was for him. Like WTF?! First off, he was a replacement player and secondly, he's not a 3PT shooter! But Kyden crying afterwards was hilarious! LOL
I don't know, the whole thing really turns me off. And I didn't even mention the actual All-Star Game, which is the biggest waste of time but hey if that 10-18 year old fan who is just starting to get into the sport enjoys it and finds it entertaining, that's fine with me.
This made me chuckle.
Now let’s get back to kickin’ butt!
