$500k for those guys is no joke. Brunson is SO that guy. Also player of the week. Congrats big headed captain!

Yep, my main interest is in seeing the young guys get a payday.
Other than that, it’s kind of silly. Although some of the courts are sweet, or so atrocious it’s a spectacle to behold.
If it ever comes to where the knicks win a chip, there is nothing in it for us. ITs the journey. The moments that get your there. The thrills.
The lasting memory that will feel good for years. We are on the sidelines throwing confetti. Thats it.
Enjoy the games, not the result.
Lets take this cup on the path to a chip. A flag post to something bigger.

I say that’s deep shit, but it’s more like a crock of shit. Dude, you can’t say there is nothing in it for us in winning a chip. I’ve spent my entire life on that journey with 93 and 99 being the closest we’ve come to salvation. Fuck the journey. Gimme my chip.

My epiphany came at the end of the 1994 finals. Next day had to go to work. If they had won, same thing.
Would have been great right? Sure. Was it a catastrophe they lost? Not really. My life did not change.
Then 1997. Game 5 PJ Brown Midget tosses Charlie ward and only series Riley beats JVG in the year of the revamped roster. Knicks were up 3-1 and Stern drew the line on violence and knicks got fucked. No conspiracy. Knicks/Bulls conf. finals would have been better ratings. The tape told the tale and knick players left the bench. It might have been our year. Game 6 and seven we had to just sit and watch that fucking mess unravel. Bulls beat Miami in 5. Knicks were built for Bulls that year. I remember last game of regular season Knicks went to Chicago and beat the Bulls by two points in their house. Bulls won 69 that year. But it was to be decided in the Conf. finals vs. Bulls, not the shit show that happend instead.
All the while Jordan dances on our heads.
Strike short 1999 we get the final 8th seed and stick it to Miami who had yet to win a chip to the that point. That was a moment. H20 legacy moment as a knicks. They we moved on to the finals to meet the Spurs whom we had no real chance of beating. Knicks gave it a good run but ran out of steam. Kind of like last year. Very satisfying. Seeing a team come together is a really cool thing to behold. Don't get me wrong, a chip would be wonderful. But I won't be pained by the lack of it. Not any more.
Its been a fun month of knicks basketball!
I would love to see the NBA cup. Im desperate for any kind of trophy for the Knicks. I think throwing up some kind of banner would help things feel a little different in the locker room.

While no team should sacrifice a true title run by risking an asset as if this was game 7 and willis reed is coming out of the tunnel, this should be the goal of every team enroute to accomplishing a bigger goal.
Knicks core his healthy. This is a good thing. They are a work in progress and this would be a nice galvanizing experience.
Perhaps to laker or celtic fans who have contemporary titles its not a big deal, and perhaps even to knick fans as well. But for the team itself its not the money, its the unit binding together successfully.
I think it helped Indy last season making the final to some extent.
Yeah, lets beat Orlando and at the very least give them a fight for that 3rd seed.
Its a playoff game tonite in the Garden!!!!!
Brunson shooting percentages, assists and A/TO are all better than last year. Only points are down on 3.5 less attempts per game. This guy is such a stud - has in only 20 games established himself as a better distributor. He was an MVP level scorer and "Jordan-esque" in the playoffs and not only has willingly taken a back seat scoring wise for the team he has improved his distribution so much. This guy is the ultimate team first player and such a stud in terms of the work he puts in. He has been a 2nd half of the season player his 2 seasons here, so I expect him to bring another level from here still.
Thats said he is Eastern Conference player of the Week and the only narrative around him this year seems to be he isnt as good as last year.

I like it that his scoring is down and assists up, better blend for the team.
Much ado about nothing I guess

me too. I dont think it's silly at all. Games are more meaningful. All get national attention. When teams are still in it they are great and include extra gamesmanship. For a team like the Knicks it's a nice tune up for a deep playoff run.
