me too. I dont think it's silly at all. Games are more meaningful. All get national attention. When teams are still in it they are great and include extra gamesmanship. For a team like the Knicks it's a nice tune up for a deep playoff run.

Yeah I’m digging the added intensity for these games

And just like that, KAT is leading the league in rebounds with 13.1 per game, overtaking Jokic at 13.0.

4 time Allstar, twice all NBA has avg'd 12 or more rebounds 3x in his career. It was not a reach for him to get back to that level. Surpassing it is wonderful. Lets see how the rest of the season goes and if he plays more perimeter when precious and Mitch return.
Concerns of healthy and sustainability still persist. He has missed only one game this season.
I suspect knicks will "Manage" things if need be.

Randle is 3x all-star and twice All NBA. Both peak stats are not that far off each other. KAT has some better rebounding years. Jules twice avg'd just over 10 per game.

wild how he was at 12rpg last time under Thibs and goes right back to that again. This culture is just wild

Yeah. KAT has been everything and more than what he had hoped to get in the trade. I figured he's sort of like Randle but a more legit center size. In reality, every meaningful aspect of KAT's game is at least a little better (or even a lot) compared to Randle's. And Randle was an all-NBA player with us. He's averaging 14.1 boards per 36 minutes so far - a career high for himself.
Mitchell Robinson averaged 12.6 boards per 36 in his best year. (to be fair, we are playing a much faster pace than at any point during Robinson's tenure with the team.)

Worth noting, our second-best rebounder is Hart at 8.6rpg. I think we're the best 1-2 rebounding punch in the league. Ahead of the likes of Mobley/Allen, Jokic/Porter Jr, and AD/Lebron.

The big question is WTF happened that caused Thibs to get relieved his his presidents title and as coach?
Remember when Jimmy Butler went nuclear? Lets not forget Jimmy was bought in from Chicago by Thibs who lost his team.
As we all know, people learn and grow thru experience. Except Kurt Rambis of course, but my contention when we hired Thibs is he fixed his shit and learned from it.
I also figured he and KAT had a big boy meeting and they were good before the trade.
But Jimmy went nuclear and it was just a weird scenario,

Maybe it's Jimmy. Seems like it didn't work in Philly and this past summer he kinda traded barbs with Riley. Spo seems to have lost his team some from the upper levels of where they usually operate.

Separation of duties is important. Knicks have someone operating at the top of their profession in each aspect of the Front office. Aller negotiating contracts and working the cap. Rossas and Perrin on personnnell/scouting. Leon being the being the CEO/man in charge of the business. Thibs is a basketball genius but asking him to do all of this or have responsibility for all of it is a lot. Look at him now - coaching is a 24/7 thing for him. It all works better. The last thing a coach needs is a player who not only is upset about their role, but their contract - and he has to answer for both things.

The key is the front office takes cues from what the coach is trying to do and brings him the right pieces.

These guys are the bomb

Nalod @ 12/9/2024 12:22 AM
The vibe did not come thru the TV or just seeing the guys there.
Not for anything but other than the name "Rory Sparrow" I can't recall much of him.
Donny May, I do remember the name!
Nothing bad about it. It must have been nice for the participants, the press, team officials, etc.
Remeinded me of old-timers day at Yankee stadium.
