Knicks · Knick knacks... (page 185)

Its fun to look back but RJ was the logical pick in a draft that was percieved as really just being 3 deep at the time.
Can't say anyone taken after him really proved that much better or valuable. Not like Donovan mitchell was sitting there at 14th that year.
Kid has been solid on and off the court.

Perfect combo! Gotta help Josh recoup the value of the crap that stolen from him at that hotel.

I like Donte, but I expect more if they trade Mitch and Deuce. But their future extensions are probably playing a part in this

I want Jose and Donte -- think BOTH bring a level of intensity that this roster is lacking.

Add in that both are gamers - both fit from a chemistry perspective (Jose seems very cozy with Josh/Jalen) and both can shoot the ball from perimeter.

I wouldn't want to lose Deuce here but Mitch in a Donte trade I think I'm ok with that.

Maybe it's some type of Yabu or Kolek/Dadiet for Jose and something built around Mitch for Donte.

We'd now have 4 smaller guards (including Donte) but all gamers and all a level of toughness/shooting (with some playmaking). It's possible 1 of Deuce/Donte would slot in at starting 2 guard and Josh goes to bench (when/if necessary).

Knicks would likely figure out some avenue to add a vet big to support Kat/Huck maybe that would be a buy out situation come spring.

I think if you add these 2 to this squad the pace and scoring will take another leap - it's also possible Huck is ready for some key minutes. He's already a better feet mover on D and may be better shot blocker at this point. You lose Mitch offensive rebounding here but Hucks also more able on offense in terms of making a pass and screening - maybe making a FT once in a blue moon.

I don't think Knicks would deal Mitch without a plan. In an ideal world maybe we can get hands on Donte without using Mitch but doubt that.

Jalen/Jose
Donte/Deuce
Mikal/Clarkson/Shanet
OG/Josh
Kat/Huck

I don't think we stand a legit shot against Thunder without better/more ball handlers, playmakers and shooting.

Adding Jose/Donte does that -- not saying that assures anything but we need to be able to handle ball pressure and not force Jalen to bring ball up all night come playoffs.

Could also see a guy like Kris Middleton become available as a buyout pick-up and he gives us some wing size/shooting/experience at back-up 3/4.

Josh is no doubt "operating" at a high level since he was inserted!

Small wonder some of us like bully ball.
