Scott Layden. His % might not have ranked?
My money is on Isiah. He burned cap space, draft picks for epic salary deviations that was 40% higher than the second highest salaried team. He traded picks that became Noah and Aldridge for Eddy. Epic disaster that took years to undo.
Phil sucked, but he did not burn picks. in fact, he had 2 picks in 4 drafts.

As you know, I've never been a fan of Steve Mills. Not on the bball side of being an exec. But he did hire Perry.

Didnt have a winning record as GM. But Perry was able to convince Dolan. That you have to learn to crawl, before you can walk. Those other execs couldnt do that.

Mills knew that Perry had a much better grasp than he did of the bball side of being an exec. Some execs wouldnt have made that hire. So cheers for that.

I'm also going to say Isiah because of how bad he made the entire franchise look from top to bottom. Their was a stench to it.

Phil had one foot in Montana. That was clear.

Layden wasnt hired to be a potential GM. Checketts was the man. From people who knew him, I heard Layden was a very nice guy. Big family. But he wasnt cut out to be more than an AGM.

Donnie was tasked with clearing space for LeBron. Then did a piss poor job of selling James on NY. Showing up in a wheelchair. Yikes.

For me no contest - Isaiah. I know the hate is thick for Phil and he was not stellar, but he started the trend of not giving away #1's. Isaiah couldn't help himself trading cows for magic beans. The other guys kinda sucked but more in a mediocre kind of way. Isaiah turned the Garden into a huge Port-O-Potty.

Phil didnt have that many 1st round picks while he was in NY. Already gone. Cant trade what you dont have.

He could have traded some and didn't. So your last sentence is false.

Not trading two 1st round picks over a 4 year span , isnt exactly an achievement. Didnt have any to spare.

These guys robbed us all of a couple decades' worth of exciting basketball.

But I agree... it's no contest. And that ****ing smile the whole ****ing time.

Has anyone ever done a similar all time worst first rounder ? For me it's Frederick Weis or is it Kevin Knox ? We have had plenty of stinkers.

Renaldo Balkman at pick #20 is looking bad, but that draft was crappy in general. Frank and Michael Sweeney get consideration.

Uh, you can trade future #1s I hear? Like the situation Phil walked into because of previous GMs. He did not leave the cupboard bare which to perhaps a small extent set the stage for the current resurgence.

I know Phil is the bogeyman and I am not excusing his sins as team president. But he did not trade future #1s for for a quick fix like Isaiah and others. No Bargiani, no Eddy Curry. This is a fact.

Walsh drafting Jordan Hill when we had the same player in Chris Wilcox.

Considering Frank put up 12th man numbers(offensively) for all of his career. The endless hype. Might be the biggest bust of the last decade. Knox has put up better numbers than Frank.

Weis never played for us.

Milos Juvanic was a 2nd rounder but he refused to play for the Knicks. He was hyped as well. AH!

Its a fair argument that the cupboard was bare. Its another thing to suggest that Phil could afford to trade away 1st rounders. He couldnt.

Phil wasnt a "boogeyman". He was a former Knick from the glory years, who came back and fleeced his old team of 40 million dollars. Put more energy into mean tweeting his players and "nap time", than he did running the franchise.

I am old enough to remember watching Phil play for the Knicks at MSG,way back when. Take no pleasure in dissing Phil. But he made it too damned easy.

Oak does not understand why nobody invites him to things?
When you need a sound bite, interview oak. He’ll get you clicks.

90’s Oak usually gave entertaining interviews.

20’s Oak is just… sad.

Just laying the groundwork. Pre pre pre negotiations. But certainly not tampering
