Just laying the groundwork. Pre pre pre negotiations. But certainly not tampering

No listing formally of Gerson Rosas anywhere. Still Perrin and Zannin as assist GM. No GM listed.
Also nothing on Scott Perry next plans. Curious where he lands.
he came in 2017 into a turbulent time hired away (for a second round pick) From SAC were he was just a few months in as Assistant to Vlade Divac.

As many of you have read I rarely blame the GM exclusively as each team has its own agenda. Somtimes its the Team President or the owner that dictates the direction of the roster.
Perry came in and handled the Melo and KP situations very well.
Who knows whos "idea" it was to hire Fiz, or fire him. Whose idea to bring on Randle, etc. But in his 6 years his input was valued by Leon and at some point perhaps it was just time.
Was it mutual? Who knows. He is a class act and left the team in very good shape regardless of who drove the decisions.
Curious to see if he lands an executive role with a team or into the leagues office.

At the same time who is named GM as knicks. Its widely assumed Rosas is the man.

Gerson still has Knick's Senior Advisor listed in his Twitter bio. I know the rumors seemed to indicate he was sliding into Perry's spot, but who knows? A lot can change in a few months. Can't say I'm really invested either way. Leon is the team president and the buck stops with him.

I go by the official NBA listings. Twitter can be out of date as can Linkedin.
Rosas had his personal/marital/affair issues with minny, as reported exasperated by covid stress and new ownership transitioning. Never net the man but is basketball acumen has a good reputation.

A New York City council committee has approved a five-year permit to let Madison Square Garden continue operating above Penn Station. The midtown Manhattan train station will undergo a $7 billion reconstruction, which some city officials think could require the relocation of MSG.

MSG owner James Dolan hoped to secure a permanent permit to operate above Penn Station, while the city previously proposed a 10-year extension as The Garden’s current permit expired this year.

NYC mayor Eric Adams has said he’d talk to Dolan about moving Madison Square Garden to accommodate Penn Station’s planned expansion. Still, the Knicks and Rangers owner has thus far been reluctant to pursue relocation plans. The World’s Most Famous Arena has been at its current home since 1968, while Penn Station is the country’s busiest passenger train station, and some officials believe MSG will need to relocate for proper upgrades to be completed.

“We are disappointed,” MSG Entertainment said in a statement. “The committees have done a grave disservice to New Yorkers today in a shortsighted move that will further contribute to the erosion of the city – that’s true now and will be true five years from now.”

MSG tallied a record revenue of $887 million for fiscal 2023 as both the Knicks and Rangers made the playoffs. The five-year permit allows city officials a window to coordinate Penn Station’s reconstruction plan with Dolan, who has a tense relationship with the city and threatened to stop selling alcohol at MSG in response to lawmakers taking issue with his use of facial recognition technology to ban his adversaries from the arena.

Does the "Drake curse" apply to NBA players working out to his music?

LivingLegend @ 8/31/2023 9:59 AM
Drake have any music that might help with shot selection?

What?

I'm an Obi fan, but who reps Obi makes me wonder how much that was driving the Knicks decision. Passing up on Halliburton, maybe. Halliburton and Brunson? IDK about that. If true.

All FOs whiff on players. The optics of why in this situation, doesnt look good.

Leon is doing a good job overall. But if we go another season without a big trade, as well as a quick exit in the playoffs. Rose might be on the hot seat. I'm guessing he's safe for this season.

Nalod @ 8/31/2023 5:57 PM
Obi has been a disappointment. Remember, they shut down the season due to covid and things stopped. \NBA draft was two weeks before came in oct. No visits, no workouts.
Haliburton went 14th. Not like the knicks were the only team to wiff on him.

Brunson three years ago was not the same. That deal would have been sweet.
Obi was national player of the year and may still thrive in another system.
Win some and lose some. Bottom line we got wiffed on the pick, but Brunson thrived here as a free agent.
To be fair, Haliburton also thrived after he left SAC in the right system.
