why? He's not shitting on a teammate or the org or the coaches... he's venting frustration cause he wants more shots. You would look to trade him over this?

Mitch plays hard. His offense has improved. We literally never EVER throw it into him in the post. Ever.

Not true- RJ passes it all the fucking time, they're just disguised as missed lay ups and other assorted FGAs.

this is good content. If it wasnt for RJ you know Mitch's FGAs would be like half

I had hope that a real PG would get Mitch a ton of shots- and given his ability to finish, that would be a weapon on the offense.

But it seems like we're just drive and kick. There was a wonderful play where Obi passed the ball off, cut under the basket and iHart found him for the reverse lay up.

It just seems like we don't do a whole lot to get our bigs easy shots.

He's played with RJ for 4 years and watched RJ get 15 shots a game handed to him because he's a lottery pick and the guy is a brick layer.

How about this... lets pass Mitch (and IHart) the phucking ball every now and then? Im not saying make him Embiid... but run a play in the post for him. Geeze. Mitch is 100% right. He's not getting the ball until the guards throw it to him.

I love Thibs and we will see how this plays out. Mitch's beef is fair

I agree to an extent...Would like to see him featured in more PNR's if nothing else. We are down one ball dominate guard and his touches decreased, especially the last two games. Mitch is shooting 70% around the basket so he has a legit beef. Unfortunatly for him, he's playing on a team thats iso-driven with low team assist numbers...

on a side note Mitch and his contract have great value. Sac needs rim protection and defense. Maybe a swap of Keegan Murray for Mitch and McBride. We move IHart to starter and maybe draft another big. Something like that. Swing big. Just a thought

Agreed. How about learning to shoot free throws? Anyway, if you are being outplayed by your bench replacement in the same exact minutes you have no reason to complain. Such loser behavior. Added that he is hurt a lot. iHart is way more durable. iHart leads the league in boxouts. Against the Lakers Mitch was a team worst -15, while iHart was at +19. Stfu and play better instead of whining like a little baby

Now is not the time for him to whine...at least wait until the off-season.
Elijah Moore 2.0?

Brunson, Hart, and Randle...maybe Rose, should sit his ass down & set him straight.

I've applied this comment to MR for years, and gotten shot down by some who seem to think centers have no need of developing skills, and are only there on offense for the occasional alley oop...

...Why hasn't Mitch developed any polish around the rim?

A jump hook, or the ability to use the backboard for a <5 ft jumper would increase his value exponentially...

When he gets the ball down low, if he can't dunk, he just seems to throw the ball up, hoping for a good roll. To top it off, you can't trust him from the line.

The only time you use him on offense where he is the scorer is a pick & roll...He simply has no other offensive skills. If Mitch showed any ability on offense, other than the one thing he can do, he would see the ball more.

What skills has Mitch shown us which make you think he can do anything other than be a recipient of an alley oop pass off a pick and roll, or dunk off an offensive rebound.

With what shot has he shown any form of consistency? Have you ever seen him show any polish in the paint?
Jump hook? 5 foot bank shot? Fall away in the lane? Mid-range J?

He clearly hasn't shown any development with his offensive game...Why entrust him with more responsibility?

about 50 seconds in would be a good example. He's around there all the time. He never gets touches.

He clearly HAS shown and is not a part of the offense when it comes to scoring. He actually got some good looks early in the year. We just stopped passing to him. IDK why

fishmike @ 3/15/2023 6:20 PM
funny how "all he does is dunk" is somehow a reason why Mitch shouldnt get more touches. I love Knick fans

literally first play of the game.

post up, 2 dribbles and Mitch scoring the post

LivingLegend wrote:This guy kills me with this crap.

He has ZERO offensive game - none, nada, can’t screen, can’t drib, can’t pass, can’t shoot - he does get offensive rebounds.

He has zero post game, I’d he doesn’t have a clean dunk he can barely get his arms up to finish a layup often fumblingbumbling the ball out of bounds off his feet, off his fingers or off the bottom of backboard like last night. He barely runs the floor - drags himself up and down like he’s 45.

Then look at his free throw shooting — now one of the worst brick layers alive, shoots and absolute rocket at the rim at max height of basically 10’1”.

And he wants the ball more - give me a break Mitch.

Posted almost the exact same thing after you...He has not developed a single recognizable/repeatable shot in the post.

I just don't get it...I'll also say the Knicks should've pushed him & Sims to work with someone who could teach them post-up moves.

His public venting is coming at the wrong time. And it’s indirectly targeting the coaches obviously. We don’t have to trade him, but these aren’t typically the guys you win big with. Everyone has to put the team first. Mitch has never shown any ability in the post. He has no touch. He clearly can’t shoot. He’s below 50% from the line. He has to accept what he’s good at and what he’s not. Maybe he just wants more plays for alley-oops. Fine. But still the wrong time to vent.

same thing I said to CleaverGreene... scroll up.

Im not talking about feeding him like Ewing. He's not Ewing. But he's not far from Mutumbo and even stone hands Deke go to take some shots in the post.

I'll give you props for finding a Mitch Rob turnaround J in the paint...& it didn't look bad, but why is it so rarely repeated? Why does he look like me (5'10" & over 60) trying to put up a shot in the post against a 7 ft opponent?

Look at 1:46...He gets an offensive rebound and is just about in the paint, being guarded by somebody much smaller than him. If he had any post up game he would've taken the guy down low. He never even thought of exploiting the size difference.

I'll admit that I have complained about our team's 1/1 isolation tendencies, but then I'm told our offensive rating is one of the best in the league. I think Grimes and others are hurt because Randle, and even Brunson, at times, are putting scoring above passing.

Like Grimes, though, Mitch has to prove that good things happen when he gets the ball and looks to score...So far he hasn't done this.

no he hasnt... but he's not asking for RJ's role here. He's literally just asking for a shot and all those highlights are from early in the year. He just never gets it dumped into him. Ever. Sounds like a fair thing to bitch about. He's not loafing. The guy is literally running cardio. I like it. Im also an advocate of anyone taking RJ's shots as well. I think that's part of it.

How often does he do a move like that?

What moves on offense do we identify Mitch with? Jump hook? That turn-around J in the post you had in another post? A short turn around using the board, like McHale/Walton/Duncan?

When I think of Mitch I think about dunks, and really awkward shots inside, where he shows no concept of how to finish.

You and I know that form, muscle memory, repetitive motions are keys for being a consistent performer. Mitch has not shown me that he has put in the practice needed to show these things in competition.

BRIGGS @ 3/15/2023 7:53 PM
Making 60mm bucks and complaining about it Mitch come on brother. Im sure he can ask his teammates straight up to get him a few more looks. Not a biggie but not necessary to cause any bs.
Panos @ 3/15/2023 8:29 PM
I feel like this isn't the first time Mitch is complaining in social media. Talk to your coach, bro.
Chandler @ 3/15/2023 8:50 PM
i think people are overreacting. it's a new generation. Young people talk on twitter and total strangers as if it were one of their friends.

Guy broke Wilt's record and we're not lobbing it to him once in a while. let him vent a little. He'll still come out and fight, dive on the floor etc.

CP3 would be lobbing to this guy 6-10 times a game.

they'll work it out.
