1-5 yesterday? What’s going on Obi?
YOu know Obi not here, right?
He’s reverted back to a 25% 3pt shooter who isn’t active offensively outside of cherry picking. There’s a good opportunity to get a big wing/ combo forward in the draft that can do what Obi is trying to do.
Obi to take whipping boy mantle from RJ?

This reminds me of a popular phrase.
"We are only as strong as our weakest link"
Right now, Obi is the weakest link in this 9 man rotation.

RJ is frustrating but I love his mindset. He's tough and keeps attacking. I can live with that any day over being too passive and afraid. This happens to McBride alot (although he's getting better and plays D)
Its wildly disappointing from Obi. He's such a physical specimen but he plays like Ray Allen
the most frustrating thing about Obi is what he did end of the year last season. I know, games didn't matter. But we watched Frank, Kevin, DSjr come up small when games didn't matter.
I get that limited is hard to impact, but still.
Look, I don’t love him. It was the wrong pick, the passed on the allstar we needed, but he’s just totally fucked here.
His confidence is shot. Imagine having 14 minutes to show your stuff. If you play well you’re out, if you don’t your out. There is no upside.
Trade him to a western conference team like the Rockets, spurs and let him loose. Maybe we can swap the Dallas first and Obi for vessel.

Obi had Randle's role to close the season, and he made the most of that opportunity. Now Obi is back to the corner, and guess what happened?

Agree

That Dallas pick is good; don’t give it up
Nothing against the author, but the title of this post reminds me again that I wish fans would stop referring to players they don’t like as “trash”.

-25 last night though
Obi been Obi and knicks record is with him.
Im not saying there is a decision not to be made after the season, just not now.
easy to say he is cap fodder in a trade and team takes a flyer on him.
Is it me or he seems to be getting smaller? Maybe he see’s Kuzma as the type of player he should be and morph to a 3?
His lateral quickness needs improvement.
Be good if he can hold down the fort and give Randle minutes to rest.

Yes this is the simplest way to say it. Obi isn’t a bad player, he’s just not a contributor as a backup PF in this situation. Knicks really need shooting and defense from that role. They need a grant Williams type player.
I’d love to see Obi try to use the backboard more. He did a move last night Bank shotting it in for 2 while he had a defender with his hand in his face. Tim Duncan dominated the nba for 15 years with that but most guys just want to swish it in everytime because they think that looks cooler.
Be like Tim.

In Thibs offense and behind a player who's one of the top guys in minutes played in the league.
Put Obi in a different system, behind a different player, and you will get different results.

Obi's issue is he's not a SF or a Center. Randle is not a SF or a Center.
Obi can not play multiple positions, stuck behind a player who also can't play multiple positions.
Both players can only play PF in Thibs system. The FO has to make some decisions this off season. Can't prolong the obvious.
Obi will thrive in a different role, with a pass first PG. Im confident of that. Obi isnt trash, just the role he's been given.

At this point I would take Obi before RJ. At least Obi seems to know his role. I think the real trash is RJ...especially for the money we're paying him.
