Simple as that

yeah man... everyone wants more Obi whatever but you just gotta have one of these guys in the game. They are very different but do so many good things. They also do the same things like rebound and protect the rim but in very different ways also. Its clearly a nightmare for opposing teams because Mitchell is so slippery and Hart is so strong. They are and awesome and interchangeable combo.
VDesai @ 4/23/2023 4:31 PM
Hartenstein is a defensive monster and when he is in there are very few layups. Just a strong interior player who is in the right spot always and stays vertical

Truth is we winning 3-1 becuase the play at the 5.
Can’t say Allen and Mobley are playing bad, but our guys are just doing it well.

There isnt a dropoff defensively when Hartenstein subs in. Very important.

No kidding. Maybe I overestimated Mobley/Allen (I don’t I have but thats a different subject) but I wasn’t expecting this.

I think the Knicks may be regretting giving Hartenstein that second year player option

Philc1 @ 4/23/2023 6:13 PM
Mitch carried us for part of the game and hart was a defensive beast at times

Mobley still looks very raw and his body hasn’t filled out yet. He has a lot of potential

Its nice to see the knicks Bigs taking control. Before the start of the series, the media has been hyping Cleveland's twin towers. The knicks have a better pair as shown in the series!

iHart a bit more mobile, better hands, and creates a different look with it.
The steals and defections are really helping.

I wonder how many Cavs fans defected today.

The fun part in all of this?

After Cavs selected Mobley in the 2021 draft, they had chance to offer iHart a $2.2m contract offer that would have made him a RFA and realistically Hart would have probably elected to stay.

Team already (and also) had Lauri Markkanen so it would have been over crowded for the bigs, but they had an elite backup rotation big sitting right there and let him go for nothing.

Knicks eventually got the goods after Clippers also swung and missed (electing to sign John Wall and then releasing him later on).

Hart superb defending the perimeter screen / roll game — great hedges, some doubles but recovers and almost always in right place.

Nothing is forever but I’m good with our 3 centers for as long as we can keep them.

Not gonna disrespect Mobley - he's already doing amazing things at age 21. He averaged only 12 shots/game this season, the same as his rookie year - I think the addition of Mitchell stunted his growth as a scorer.

I bet the Cavs wish Love didn't ask for a buyout like a punk. He'd have added another dimension to this team. They're pretty thin after Allen and Mobley.

But to think that Hartenstein was a Cav in 2020-2021 is kind of crazy. Nice that he has a chance to stick it to a former team that didn't give him a deal. And kudos to the Knicks for this surprise signing. I had no idea who Hartenstein was before the FA announcement.

Twin Tower lineup gives them terrible spacing and gets them destroyed on the boards. They should trade one of them for a wing

Or keep developing Mobley. He gets that midrange jumper going its gonna be a bitch to guard.
Fans react to what they see. FO and coaches see a path.
I thought Cav’s regular season when better than expected for year one of this back court and with their towers. Swapping out insures changes, not improvement.
Cav’s played to their ceiling which has to be gradifying for all but the fans whose expectations get bloated.

So Grimes there is a bench player and they give up a 21 year old 7 footer stud for the chance to draft out of the lottery for the next 5-7 years?
I love Grimes but the Klay Thompson comps were a bit premature.
