There’s no going backwards in a rebuild right now. Knicks have moved into win mode and moving RJ for anything less than a sure thing isn’t the move at this point.

I have no idea. As you might imagine Im good with RJ going forward.
My guess is for this team to really move forward one of RJ, Randle, or Mitch won't be back next year.
But if the right deal is not there it won't just be to "Shake things up". This FO is extremely patient and has a lot of flex.
Also they don't have to sign IQ as he is restricted. Granted, he might surge costing more but cap flex is also valuable unto itself.
IQ is very valuable without a contract right now. We can extend him until first game. Then he is RFA. I like him, but you send him with EF, maybe Drose and you have a lot of salary moving with a very good young player. For whom? I don't know.
Id move RJ and JR and start getting some real BB players who can shoot. I see they made 1 move in the front office...maybe that's a start for making somebody accountable for the miserable roster we've had over the last decade.

I saw the podcast of paul George with Randle, im curious what this current starting 5 for the knicks can do with a couple more years playing together. Randle's poor playoff performance can be explained by his two ankle sprains. We saw RJ finally getting into a groove in the playoffs. What can this knicks team become if they have last year's regular season Randle, playoff Barrett with Jalen? I think if you insert playoff RJ in last year's team thats could probably give the team 10more wins for the season.
I would not mind for the FO to make a semi-big trade that can still keep the big 3 maybe trade Obi so he can finally play and maybe Deuce plus 2 1st rounders for OG Anunoby? If thats even possible.

If RJ and Hart get their 3 pt shooting to league average, and Grimes gets 15-20 shots, that means he gets some of RJs and Randal's, the team moves up a level. Just those three very possible improvements makes the Knicks way more versatile and capable offensively. Then you pick up a capable bench piece with the MLE or two and we have depth. Plus RJ that can shoot league average from 3 is more valuable in a trade scenario.

If I am reading you correctly - are you really miserable with the build up of talent in the Rose era and wins into the second round of the playoffs this year? That’s the right of a fan I suppose. I’m hoping for more, but I think it is possible to enjoy the process.

Even in a vacuum, no one does this type of trade, cause then you have, you know, dead'ish weight contracts of DRose and Fournier on your cap

can Knicks trade Drose NOW and then new team deny his team team option if its a June 30th thing? Then its one year of EF which at least he is a decent player to put out there?
